For those who have finished basements
What kind of flooring do you have in there.
Dh wants something like the newer shag look. I think if we are doing carpet, it should be more of industrial style carpet.
I mean our basement hasn't flooded before, but our washer and dryer are down there, and dh is building a bar down there. So who knows how many drinks will be spilled.
Please any suggestions would be great

Re: For those who have finished basements
we have berber-type carpet with a thick padding. The floor underneath is a mess with dips and valleys so it was really our only choice.

We have those fake wood things, plus some of the extra crappy carpet from upstairs.

Re: For those who have finished basements
We are finishing it now, and I think we are going to go with a more industrial type carpet. I'd love to do wood or vinyl, but since we are using the basement partly as a future play room, I think I'd rather have the carpet for the kiddies.
