People with finished basements
Did you find that once you finished off your basement that you had less bugs down there? My SIL is moving in temporarily in the basement and am hoping the bugs stay away for the most part. Last year we had so many crickets and spiders, its insane.

My DH put bug repelant around the outside perimeter of the house (I think Boric Acid). That help a lot. We rarely, if ever, get a bug down there.

The only bug we ever get are crickets.  I swear...we've sprayed, sprayed and sprayed, but those suckas are determined to get into my house. We don't get crazy amounts, but 1 is more than enough for me.
But that's really it...never a spider, ant, nothing. Just the "end of summer" cricket.

Dh and I live in my sister and BIL's finished basement. We get the occassional critter, but very rarely.
