just to be sure I got this right... the price you have personally paid for the sins of your forefathers includes a *supposed* whites only dating website billboard, the BET channel, Miss Black USA, jdate, or blacksingles.com?

if you would like to twist my words to mean that, then go for it.

I wasn't personally saying anything, but the whole issue is should we let the past predicate the present. And by the way, I never mentioned BET or the Miss Black America. I believe my original post was based on a specific thing.

All I am saying is don't assume "whites" aren't discriminated against in some way and don't "get it" because they aren't a certain religion or race.

I wasn’t trying to twist your words, I’m just trying to get a better understanding of what price you have personally paid.

The past is part of history and cannot be changed. Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

I felt compelled to include this quote

“A country without a memory is a country of madmen. Progress, far from
consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute
there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible
improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages,
infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned
to repeat it. In the first stage of life the mind is frivolous and
easily distracted, it misses progress by failing in consecutiveness and
persistence. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in which
instinct has learned nothing from experience.”

George Santayana - US (Spanish-born) philosopher (1863 - 1952)

If I took a poll right now and ask the age of most of the ladies on this post, you all would be under the age of 25, and don't have an idea of what goes on in the world.

There isn't an age requirement for experiences or opinions -

And if you took a poll of most of the ladeis on this post, you'd see they are well educated, well read, and respectful of others' opinions -

see, that's what I mean, what does me saying that most of the ladies here are under the age of 25 (which I'm SURE is true) have to do with anyone not being educated or well read? I didn't say anyone wasn't educated, I'm saying that alot of ladies on this site are young, and may not have seen alot of what's going on in the world.

I belive most of the ladies here are OVER the age of 25. I think there's actually more women that are over the age of 30 around here.

EXCUSE ME? What you wrote was one of the most egregious displays of ignorance I've ever seen on here.

And, for the record, I AM 32.

ITA. I am 27. And, you don't magically know what is going on the world once you reach 25. I know plenty of young women who know exactly what is going on in the world have far more life experience, etc. than those over 30. And I have seen plenty of women over the age of 30 who have not a clue what goes on in the world.

Thank you for posting EXACTLY what I was thinking...

Oh and FTR, I'm 30.

Question... How does someone with all of 30 something posts come to such a conclusion?

Because you said most of the ladies are under the age of 25 AND have no idea what's going on in the world .....which would imply that you must be OVER the age of 25 to know what's going on .......
MY response is that you don't have to be over a certain age to know what's going on in the world BECAUSE people are well educated, well read, have had many different expreiences etc. all before the age of 25 -

So, youire response isn't making much sense to me

It has nothing to do with your opinion.

I think Jenn was asking how your conclusion of all women here being under 25 was made being you have a lower post count. How much of an observation have you made to be able to come up with such a figure.

And FTR don't underestimate people under 25. They aren't as naive as you clearly seem to think they are.

I'm inferring from your post that you are over 30, correct? And if so, I am concluding that, with your sweeping generalization about nonsense, that you have just proven your own theory wrong. Chat Icon

I'm asking b/c I can't figure out how you could have come up with such an opinion (that EVERYONE must be under 25 on this site) when you're so new to this site yourself.
