DS loved being swaddled in the hospital, but even though I did it the same way at home, he wanted no part of it. Even now, if I cover his hands with a blanket, he pulls them right out.
He likes to sleep all spred out.

it was a few years ago but Kaila hated being swaddled. For the first month or so I had a hard time figuring out how to soothe her

My older DD required it so I just thought that was the way it was. But DD#2 didn't want any part of it and she still slept great so...it's normal!

Re: anyone's dc not need or like to be swaddled?
DS loved to be swaddled in the hospital, but when i got him home he would always break out of it so i thought he hated it.
turns out i was doing it wrong so i got the swaddle me, and he LOVED it - slept through the night from 8 weeks on!
but of course now i have to deal with breaking the swaddling habit
if she sleeps well without it i wouldn't worry about it

Re: anyone's dc not need or like to be swaddled?
My son loved to be swaddled in the hospital but a few days after being home he was wiggle and cry when swaddled. Then around 3 months old I tried it again with the swaddle me and he loved it.. I dont think it's a bad thing... every baby is different. Try swaddling her and leaving her arms out. You could always stop for a few wks and then try again..

Re: anyone's dc not need or like to be swaddled?
DD HAD to have her arms out. She hated her arms swaddled. The rest she didn't care either way. We used the swaddle me (arms out and not tight) until she was big enough for her sleep sack.

My DS didn't really like to be swaddled. He also liked to have his arms out and liked to be able to straighten his legs.
