You took that a lot better than I would have. Since you clearly don't have an interest in cars or anything it's like he wasn't even thinking when he picked this out. I would have said something if that was my DH. Not even in a nasty way, but like what about this gift made him think of me?

We're going to see the family on this coming Saturday- so nothing as of yet with the exception of DH calling the magazine company (I even checked the outgoing calls and he did really call them) to make sure we'll be seeing our first issue sometime in January.
I've also been checking the credit card statements for weird charges (places that I know we didn't shop) so nothing there also...I'm really getting anxious and I have a bad feeling he's serious on that the magazine is my gift.

No way-the call to the magazine sounds like it was done just for show. I never call to confirm my first issue.

I'm hoping that by this weekend you don't see me posting that I killed DH.. 
I'm going to be VERY upset if this is not a fake out- one of our close friends asked what he got me for Hanukkah and I told her (in front of DH) and she almost FAINTED!

Could it be he's preparing you or hinting to you a new car......in January? Maybe the car he's getting you will be the front cover on January's issue and that is why he called to make sure you receive it. LOL 
Or I could just totally be looking too much into this?

Maybe he got them to print some message to you in the letters to the editor, or he bought ad placement to give you a special message, like "congrats on your new car"??? That might be why he's so concerned about getting that January issue.
