It's the thought that counts & it doesn't sound like there was much thought put into it. I would wait until after he celebrates with his family to see if something else is coming. If it doesn't, I'd tell him how disappointed I was.
Well I said that pretty tamely, I'd be brutally honest.

It seems to me like he was giving a gift to himself. He probably figured once you start getting the magazine he could read them. I am totaly with you on this one. Its not that you are upset at the monetary part of it because Im sure if he gave you a gift subsription to a magazine you actually like you wouldnt be posting this. He gave you a subscriptions to something you have totally no interest in. very weird. I would question him about this one.

WOW... no im right there with you... i think tickets to a Jets game is a huge gift... and like you said its not the monetary value of the gift.... its the thought, time & energy you put into a gift like that...
and to receive a magazine subscription is just really not fair... even if it was something you enjoyed reading... i still dont see how that could be your only gift...

I also wouldn't get my hopes up TOO much for another gift on the 17th- I just wouldn't want to be disappointed.

I would see what was up on the 17th. If no additional gift, I'd roll the 1st copy up and SLAM him over the head with it. Then I would use add'l copies to line the birdcage, catbox, etc.
Sorry that's a crappy gift!

I dont really know why it would be a Motor Trend subscription though....theres probably much more to it. Most likely a fake out.
The set was part of the gift- you're right about that. I almost did forget since I haven't gotten it as of yet (thanks for reminding me..lol). We actually have to pick it up this week ..he also asked me again last night if I really liked the subscription. He even said "You know that's all you are getting" and that the wedding ring set "didn't count" after I mentioned it.
There must be more to this - it's gotta be a fake out...I'm now convinced it is.
