It's hard adjusting to parenthood as a couple and you guys have to do that doubly with your boys and I am sure that is hard. No bones about it, DH must help out more. Don't you have to go back to work soon?
As for Thanksgiving, all the wounds are very fresh. Your DH needs to be more sensitive to you and what you are going through. Do Thanksgiving how it will work for you. I know it will be a tough one without your mom but as a brand new mom you need to focus on you and the boys...everyone else's drama needs to take a back door.
When you are sleep/stress deprived with the holidays on top, the tensions can rise and you may say things to each other that you thought you never would even think. Try and realize what you are feeling and why. . .would life really be better apart from each other?

I really can't say anything more than has already been said. I can't imagine the stress and grief you are going through right now. I really hope DH cuts you some slack. Losing your mom or haivng the twins would be a difficult enought adjustment but both... I just can't imagine.

As for your DH, he has to understand this and maybe a night out - you two alone - might help

As for my dad, well he is going out to dinner with my brother and SIL (who we all dont like) and has changed my brother so much in a bad way.
I just feel like I have betrayed my dad

I agree that the first year is the hardest with a baby (and doubly hard with two)... I think what happens is couples forget how to be husband and wife - parenting is A LOT of hard work and keeping the husband/wife thing while doing it makes it even harder!!! Hang in there - it will get better. Your DH needs to step it up a bit though!
I'm sorry things are so bad with your family and that your Mom is not here with you. I hope that you find it in you to have a nice Thanksgiving anyway! HUGS!

You have not betrayed your Dad. You were just trying to please everyone. I can tell you now you can't.
I have done it for years. Thinking to myself "Mom would have wanted me to do this." Believe me I've been there. I think you should just talk it out with your Dad. Tell him how you feel. He needs to know how this is affecting you as well.

You have not betrayed your dad. Please don't think that.
I will never forget the first thanksgiving after my dad passed away (in October- 10 years ago). It was so hard and we were all so emotional. I can't imagine having to deal with all family issues you are dealing with, plus two babies
You can get through this. It will get easier.
