Re: Did you change the toilet seats when you moved in?
I measured them at the inspection so I could by them before we closed. They came with us the first time we walked into the house as homeowners.
We had the carpets cleaned because there are a lot of them. We were very glad we did too!

Our seller's bought us new toilet seats and left them for us sealed in our bathrooms so yes we did. We also changed both bathrooms completely
That was really nice of them!

Umm... this is the first I've ever heard of this practice. My answer would be "NO". The lady we bought our house from kept the house so clean you could eat off of the floors. It never even occurred to me to replace the seat.

Re: Did you change the toilet seats when you moved in?
Since one of the toilets was a beautiful shade of pepto bismol pink, we did not replace it because it was impossible to match. We just cleaned it really well. The other two toilets we did.
Rugs, we ripped them all out and refinsihed the wood floors underneath.

When we moved in, we kept everything as is, didnt clean the carpets, or change the toilet seat, i even kept the shower curtain they had.
We were waiting on permits, and knew everything would be demolished anyway, i guess things dont really skeeve me out like that....i am defin the minority from reading these posts

Re: Did you change the toilet seats when you moved in?
We didn't bc our house was rennovated by a contractor (no one living in the house). I did however disinfect everything a million times bc of the workers using them!

Don't feel embarrassed. Like I said, I didn't change my seat and I'm still using it. I also used the same shower curtain for a couple of months. As for the floors, the only reason we ripped up the carpet was because we wanted to take advantage of the hardwood floors underneath. Oh, and I would say things don't skeeve me out at all. You're not the minority.

UM...no
I scrubbed the shiit out of them (literally) lol but I didn't think to change them.
ditto for us too - never thought about changing them... although the owners of our house didnt live in the house before we moved in so they probably didnt use the bathroom too much

Re: Did you change the toilet seats when you moved in?
I don't understand why this is necessary. The only way I would have even considered it is if the place were a total dive. But, like I said, it takes a lot to skeeve me out. Changing the toilet seat sounds like something my MIL would do. This is the same woman who freaks out if you wear your "street clothes" on top of your bed spread. In her house PJ's are only allowed on bed spreads. If not, those spreads are going right into the washing machine.

Re: Did you change the toilet seats when you moved in?
Oh Def yes changed all the toilet seats, that's what we do right after closing, get new locks and toilet seats immediately.
Carpets-our last home we ripped them out and put new ones down before we moved in..it was in bad shape and it was a nasty shade of pink.

Re: Did you change the toilet seats when you moved in?
Changed the seat in our master bath (it didn't have a lid!!) but kept the one in the guest bath and just cleaned the heck out of it.
As for carpet we ripped most of it up but kept it in the bedrooms. Stanley steemer came in to clean them and they did a great job.

Same here. Our house was new construction, so no worries there--but I never even thought to do this in the apartment. If it looked obviously gross, then I would have...but I cleaned it thoroughly and thought that was enough.
This coming from a pregnant lady who, at 32 weeks, will STILL only use a public toilet while hovering!
