Clipping your nails at work...
Does anyone else find this inappropriate? I work in an open enviroment...meaning no offices, no cubicles, just desks out in the open. There are several women who sit around me who clip their nails into their garbage cans at their desks. For some reason this makes me nauseous. I feel like this is something you should either do at home or at the nail salon...NOT at your desk at 10AM!

Gross!! The sounds alone drives me nuts and combine that with the possibility of nail clipping flying around the office....

YES! The sound drives me CRAZY. And it is like a long drawn out process for all 3 who do it. Not like 1 nail that needs a clip. I shiver everything I hear that horrible "clip" sound. Ughhhhh.

NOT COOL... a guy i used to work with did that... i would leave and go to the other side of the floor because i couldnt handle it

I think it is disgusting.....I can see filing your nail if you break it but clipping is horrible
Once a man was clipping his nails on the railroad and I said something I think it is something thy needs to be done in private

Its one thing that make me want to puke!!!!
DONT clip your nails on the LIRR.
DONT clip your nails on the bus.
DONT clip your nails at work.
DONT clip your nails in a public place.
Its like nails on a chalkboard and one of the GROSSEST things you can do.

I can't stand that sound !
Had a manager who used to do that.
Skeeved me out, things flying everywhere, so I would just take my coffee and disappear for 15 minutes until he finished.
I complained to HR and they did nothing about it.
It's a personal hygiene thing that should at least be taken care of in the rest room if it must be done outside of one's own home.

I know this grosses a lot of people out, maybe I'm just more immune to it or don't understand why it's so bad. On the train or with fragments flying all over - sure. I get it.
But if they're doing it right into their garbage can, I don't think I'd have a problem with it. I worked with a guy who did this occasionally, didn't really bother me.

There are 2 people that sit near me at work that do this at once or twice a week. It's gross and i can;t stand it. Someone said something to them once but they still continue to do it. Makes me sick!

On the rare occasion Ihave had to (b/c I tore it on a folder or something) I go on the bathroom. We are a small office and have a one person bathroom so it's not a big deal.
