Re: anyone's dc not need or like to be swaddled?
DS liked it in the hospital but would break his arms out of it. Once home, he hated it! I tried the swaddle me and he couldn't stand it.

Re: anyone's dc not need or like to be swaddled?
My DD wanted no part of it since day 1. I would swaddle her and she would lay there and kick herself out of it, then fall asleep. She likes to be free with her arms above her head and her legs separated. I have soo many receiving blankets and swaddle mes too....

My 2 week old DD, likes to have her hands out, she HATES being swaddled tightly and likes to be a bit more free, anyone's else DC like this too? Not sure if this is a bad thing or not? This was Cailen! He hated blankets, and anything restraining as he got older - the bumbo, his exersaucer, sling - things like that! He is a free spirit!!!

My DD hated it from day 1. She likes sleeping spread out. Hands above her head.

Hailey didn't like it. I didn't really try all that hard but knowing her personality now, I don't think I would have been able to convince her, lol.

Emerson HATED it from about 2 weeks on. She would freak out when we swaddled her and break her arms free. She liked having her hands by her face when she slept just like she did when she was in my belly.

DS didn't mind it in the hospital, but, once we were home, he wanted no part of it at all. To this day, he still doesn't even sleep with a blanket. He kicks them off.

Re: anyone's dc not need or like to be swaddled?
AJ hated it. I could get away with it for a little while but not long.
In all my sonos her hands were by her face/ears and that didnt change after birth.
The problem was those jerky movements they have when their younger. I would hold her hands so she woudlnt wake herself up.
aaaaaaaaaaaah memories.. I used to fall asleep with both her hands in my one hand. She was so cute! As she got older she'd only settle down if me or my hubby held her hand as she dozed off. She shared our bed in a snuggle nest so this was pretty easy to do. I have tons of pics of her with her arms straight out or straight up.

DS only likes being swaddled if his hands and arms are free. He'll try to get out of it if his arms are swaddled.
