Star Rebate check: Did you get yours?
Just wondering if anyone got their STAR rebate check that we are all supposed to be getting. NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance website says that they were mailed out the week of the 20th but they don't say much else.
Last time we got these checks there was a little info button to find out if your check was mailed or not, this time it's not there. Last time they let you know that if you filed your taxes and received a return through direct deposit that you would recieve it the same way. This time there is no way of finding out if you receive a check or a direct deposit. So, did you receivie it, and if so , was it a check or direct deposit? Thanks

I didn't get the letter saying I would be getting one...
Do you have to apply every year?
If I got it last year, I should get it again this year... no?

You don't get a letter. You just get the check as long as you have the STAR program and you have had it for a year. If you received a check last time i tihnk it was the spring if i remember correctly, then you are supposed to automatically be receiving another one. NYS says they are mailing them all out this week to suffolk homeowners, im not sure about Nassau. That's about ALL they say though. It says on the website if you don't receive by 11/1 to contact them. Last time it took forever to get my direct deposit and everyone else i knew received theirs way before mine. I'm just wondering if this will happen again.

Got it today in the mail. But of course, it came with another piece of mail coming from the mortgage company telling me that my payment is going up due to the escrow needed for my more expensive homeowners/taxes.

If you applied online last year, you don't need to re-apply this year.
My county's mailing date was the week of 10/13 and we got ours on Monday.

We got our STAR rebate check on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week.

We did apply last year but we received a letter in the mail yesterday to apply online.
After applying online lastnight, it said we'd receive a check within 3 weeks?
So who knows what happened?

This is the same as us...We mailed a letter on Wednesday to the address on their website...Hopefully we get it soon
