LI-IVF... Update and question...
Hey Ladies!
It's been a while, but I thought I'd update. I feel like I only post around and during my 2ww! Thankfully this board is around to keep me *sane*.
I went to LI-IVF last week, and Dr. Kenigsberg is awesome (thank you to a poster for recommending him to me!!!). Dr. K. reviewed our history, and ran bloods on me. Everything came back normal. At the first visit, he did a sonogram and things look normal as well. It was neat to see what things look like inside - ovaries, uterus, and follicles. Pretty cool.
Dh got a SA done, and it came back today completely normal. I'll post specific results later when I get the printout.
Next, he will check my progesterone (on cd22) to make sure I'm ovulating, and then do a test to see if my fallopian tubes are clear or if they're blocked. He mentioned this test may be painful, and it's done without anesthesia of any sort. I don't remember the name of this test...
Has anyone had this test done? Dye is supposedly injected into the fallopian tubes to see if they are clear... What is it called? (something with an H I think?) Is it really that painful? How is the dye injected?
Thank you for your input!!!
Trying a new TTC approach this month... instead of bding like crazy, we're only going to bd when I get +opks AND a day or two after. Let's see how that works...

Re: LI-IVF... Update and question...
glad to hear everything looks good so far! i believe the test you are asking about is called an HSG. post on the IF board - more girls on there have had this test and they can give you specifics, but from what i have read, most of them only had cramping, not actual pain.
best of luck to you - i hope you get some answers and that BFP soon!!

Your post is best suited for the IF board since the ladies over there, myself included, have gone through the testing you are describing. In fact I am a patient at LI-IVF. The HSG test is the one that checks to see if your tubes are clear. GL!

I've had an HSG done - it sounds MUCH worse than it is. The procedure took all of 5 minutes and I felt NO pain whatsoever. Maybe a little cramping for 20 minutes afterwards, but nothing more than typical AF cramping. Just make surey you take some tylenol or advil about 30 minutes prior, and you should be just fine!

It is called a HSG. I felt horrible pain when he clamped my cervix open. I believe the dye goes in with a syringe - that part didn't hurt at all. It was a very quick procedure. I had slight cramping and spotting for a few days after. Good luck I got pregnant the second month after my hsg. My tubes weren't blocked, but Dr. K said the dye from the HSG can push through any tiny blockages that may be there.
