baby doesn't like solids?
When we had our 4 month checkup 2 weeks ago, the doctor recommended we start solids (oatmeal, peaches, pears) since Riley has constipation issues.
We've given it 2 weeks and she just seems to not like them at all. I tried changing spoons, different consistencies and times of day...she just turns her head and stays tight lipped.
I am not sure which direction to take...she is only 4.5 months...do I give it a rest and try again at 5 months? Or do I keep consistently offering them with hopes that she will get used to it?

I woul stop and try again in a few weeks. My Ped said we could start at 4 mons but if DS wasn't taking to it to stop for a bit. They have to be ready or it's not a fun experience for you

Your dd probably isn't ready yet. I would hold off. 4.5 months IMO is early for most babies.

I would hold off a couple of weeks and try again. Sounds like she just isn't ready!!

6 months is the new recommendation. I would wait.

Re: baby doesn't like solids?
Hold off for a bit. Baby foods aren't a necessity at all. We completely skipped baby foods with our 3 kids(who were all big for their age, so I hate hearing people say their BIG babies "need" baby foods because breast milk/formula isn't enough, when its obviously been enough and made them big and healthy to began with ) and went straight to table foods at 7 & 8 months with them all. Shoveling food into their mouth (especially when they aren't enjoying it) just doesn't sit right with me.
