Introducing solids and my very particular baby...
So DD is 5 months. For about a month we have been trying to introduce cereal and she really wasn't that into it. She recently had an ear infection and we had to give her amoxacillin with a siringe/eyedropper and she HATED it!! Now anytime I try to put something to her mouth she purses her lips and pulls away.
So the problem is now she wont take anything off the spoon!! I would like to try to get back to cereals and also some veggies...What should I do???

loey HATED cereals! we skipped over them. i even tried re-introducing cereals recently and it was just not happening!
have you tried putting some vegetable or fruit puree on your finger (using your finger as a spoon)? that might work!
also, some babies at 5 months just aren't ready. we tried at 4 months and 5 months with cereal and loey just wasn't developmentally ready yet. it took about 2 weeks after we tried again at 6 months for him to really understand how to eat and to enjoy it.

I was going to say the same thing as Hayley- maybe he isn't ready yet. 5 months is still young. A lot of babies aren't ready until 6 months. I would take a break from it and try again in a few weeks.

try feeding a little bit on a finger, someone recomended it to me when I said I was nervous to start with spoon
Try something sweet and pleasant like applesauce, most babies love it, for the sweetness and texture.

DS was the same way. I finally used something to distract and intrigue him and he opened his mouth no problem. Sometimes I will shake a box of cherrios (he likes the sound) or a toy and it works perfectly. I still do it sometimes if he is in a "mood" and not cooperating and I know he is hungry.
