Why ask me such a Personal Question?????

Why does everyone keep asking me when am I going to have kids?

I know its probably the next step in life for us. DH and I have been together forever. We will be married 3 years. We own a home and have 3 empty rooms to fill.

It really is frustrating because I have to hide the fact that we are trying.

Its true about asking women about when they will be having a baby? It is just a personal question that you really shouldn't ask someone that because you don't know if people have been trying.

Ugh. I totally understand where you are coming from. What seems to some people to be such a simple little question is actually very hurtful in some cases. I usually try to come up with some smart remark but lately I've just avoided the question - and then of course I go into a corner and pout!

I think it's such a personal question to ask someone. Its just as rude as asking a couple who is dating when they are getting engaged. You put people on the spot.

When people ask me I just laugh it off and say it's in Gods hands.

Since my miscarriage, my family and friends know better not to say anything child/pregnancy related. They're afraid I'll burst into tears.....I won't anymore but it's better if they think I will

Usually, it's coming from a "good" place. Try to remember that. I have been getting a LOT of "Time for #2, huh?" (DC is 2 1/2 and we have been trying for nearly a year). At this point, I either say "We're working on it" or "Heh, we'll see". Good luck!!

I'm so sick of answering this question Usually I just we're trying, but it isn't easy for everyone. Lately though I'm getting more and more fed up with people asking, I'm sure I'm gonna snap soon and say something nasty.

I get are you pregnant? about 3 times a week at work. Yesterday I was wearing a loose fitting shirt and someone asked me if i was pregnant. I said no..she didnt believe me..until i lifted my shirt to show her my belly with a fitted tank top! uhhhhhh. I wanted to say no B*#*h I wish i was but thanks!

Ugh! Hate that question....the worst is when you say, "well, we're trying" and the person responds with, "oh, all my husband had to do was look at me and I would get pregnant!" SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? Don't say that...you have NO IDEA what I'm going thru!

(BTW - it was a lady in my MD's office that said that to me)

I was asked last weekend at a funeral if I was pregnant I have gotten asked when we're going to have kids, etc by random people too, especially at work.

Honestly I am so tempted to be like "Well, it depends on when my RE comes up with the right cocktail of meds to knock me up" and see what they say to THAT! ... I'm honestly trying to think back to if I ever asked someone when they plan on starting a family.. if I ever did do this and that person happens to be reading this, consider this a public apology! I think most people mean well when they ask but really it's incredibly intrusive and rude!

Seriously, some people just have no filter and are oblivious...

I get 'are you pregnant???' or 'when are you having kids???' every other f'n day. At first I would laugh it off and say 'oh, i don't know... 10 years or so!' but now I actually try to make them feel bad and say 'well, maybe it's not as easy as you think!'I'm just so sick of it and whenever DH's family asks us this question... I look at DH's face and he's actually starting to look scared bc he doesn't know what's going to spew out of my mouth!

I think it is a very personal question and hate when I am asked it. I know that I personally never ask a woman this, you never know if they have been trying and for how long. Alot of people ask me this recently and I do my best to ignore it.

I don't think people mean any harm by it and I use to try and take it with a grain of salt. I know the question use to come from a good place so I didn't let it bother me. Unfortunately it's just one of those questions that every married couple will have to face and deal with.

ugh this is so frustrating!! whats worse is that every month my mom has been asking me if i got AF. it's like YOU WILL BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO KNOW!!

I think when I was younger, I probably asked this question. It's just showing excitement. Now, I would never ask, though DH asked a friend of ours if she was this past weekend b/c she wasn't drinking and kind of made a big deal of not drinking. I could have smacked him.
