When Did You Introduce Peanut Butter?
2 years old. It is recommended because they are more able to tell you if something is wrong (throat itchy, tummy ache). And yeah, peanut oil has zero to do with having a peanut allergy. The protein in the peanut that causes a reaction is not in the oil.
And my son did have a reaction at 2, and does have a peanut allergy.

How do you have a reaction but not have allergy? What does that mean, if you try it again ds will be ok? This is exactly why I am paranoid.

I think you misread; she said he DID have a reaction and DOES have an allergy.
To answer the OP, I was advised by my pediatrician to hold off until age 2 so that is what I did with my three. One of them has a severe allergy...

Yes, he did have a reaction, which prompted us to take him to an allergist for testing. He is allergic to peanuts, pecans and walnuts.
We just did an oral peanut challenge in Aug, because his skin test was very small and his rast score was low, but sadly, after 3 rounds of peanut products he had a stomach ache and his throat was itchy

18 months and we still havent introduced dd to peanut butter. Our ped suggests 2 years. i am in no rush; the smell of peanut butter makes me gag so im happy to not keep any in the house
I agree. If it was up to me she'd never get it. I don't see the hype with peanut butter. To me it's just nasty
