? what type of hot dogs do you feed your LO--without nitrates?

We did PB at one year... I'm in no rush to introduce hot dogs though I think Trader Joe's sells some nitrate-free ones?

I'm such a paranoid wreck about choking that at this rate she won't get a hot dog until High School!

My ped said to wait for 2 years old for peanut butter.
I am in no rush for that either- not a fan of peanut butter myself

PNB we didnt do until about 18 or 20 months. My ped was more concerned about hte choking hazard. And my DS was a shoveler so the first time I gave it to him I did notice him gag more...so I waited longer.

Hotdogs I gave prior to 1 year. I would skin them, and cut them into tiny pieces. I didnt do ti regularly but if we went to a bbq or something DS only wanted table food from 9months on. At home i use turkey dogs...dont remember which ones!

I think we gave DD peanut butter at around 1 1/2. I know it was before 2. She's only had hot dogs a handful of times and they were not nitrate free. The hot dogs are cut into a million tiny pieces and probably will be until she's in high school

1 year for peanut butter, and maybe a year and a half for hot dogas. Hebrew national are nitrate free.

DD has had peanut butter and nutella since about 11 months.

No hot dogs yet due to the choking hazard! But maybe for New Year's b/c we always make pigs in a blanket!

DS is 20 months and still hasnt had PB....hes had turkey dogs since 8 months. I used to skin them now i dont and i cut them into nickel sized pieces.

My ped said 2yo for PB. DD#1 was given a brownie with PB in it at 16mos old. We waited until 2yo to give it to her again.

DD#2 is 21mos and has had a taste of PB. I'm waiting until 2yo to give her a PB sandwich or anything. She has has a bite of DD#1's sandwich and had a bite of a Nutter Butter cookie and seems to be ok.

Hot Dogs we gave prob around 18mos for both. Skin taken off and cut into small pieces. DD#2 is not a fan of them at all so we don't even bother giving her any now. DD#1 (almost 4yo) will have one once in a while. Sometimes we cut them up, sometimes she wants it whole, but she is great with taking manageable bites.

hot dogs about 18 months. DS is almost 26 months and still has not bad PB.

DS had both around 18 months. Ped said it was fine to give PB at 1. He loves hot dogs (I cut them up really small and take the skin off) but, is eh about peanut butter (so was I at that age - I didn't like the consistency).

Ped said 1 yr old for PB...I didn't plan on giving it to her b/c of the gagging/choking but she picked up her cousin's sandwich recently and started eating it and seemed to like it...she's 17 mos old. The PB was spread on the bread so thin though - and with jelly - so she didn't gag or anything on it. I have heard they won't have an allergic reaction to something until the 2nd time they try it so I've been nervous to give it to her again for some reason.

She's been having hot dogs since before 1 yr...I just cut the skin off and cut them up real tiny...she loves them. I give Hebrew National - they are the only ones I'd ever eat and are nitrate free.
