When Did You Introduce Peanut Butter?
DD's pediatrician said to wait until two but that seems late to me. I think she'd like it and I worry that she's not getting enough protein so would like it as an additional source.

Around 18 months. We put a little on a cracker. He loved it & still does. Also, he had no reactions.

My pediatrician introduces it early. She had it by 9 months. No issues and she eats it almost every day.

When Did You Introduce Peanut Butter?
DS was around 15 months. I put a very thin layer on a piece of bread, and sat in front of him with a bottle of Benadryl and my phone. My dad is allergic so I was concerned, but he was fine.

My pediatrician told me why we should wait until 24 months but I can't remember why now. My dd's haven't had it yet, they're 22 mo.

my pediatrician also suggested waiting until 15 months but we will probably introduce it before then (he's almost 14 months now)

I introduced peanut products to both of my kids before a year. I didn't give straight peanut butter at first but I gave them a bunch of different things with nuts in them, foods fried in peanut oil, etc. and they were fine so by a year I started letting them have straight peanut butter. Neither one of them had any issue.

24mos and I haven't. I keep forgetting to. Meant to do it at 15mos check up but she was sick for that visit. I want to do it soon but never seems like a good time.

I was so neurotic
I first had little guy smell peanut butter
Then I ate some and have him a kiss
Then I gave him some
With the phone and benedryl in hand
Working in a school where kids have severe reactions will make you crazy
Ps. We thought we were in the clear but it turns out- ds has a tree nut allergy

Around 8 months. DH and I have no family history of peanut allergies and before I gave it to DD I ate pb and j sandwiches all the time and breathed on her to kind of test the waters.
At her 10 month appointment her ped told us to wait until 2 years..... I'm not a Dr., but I think it's better to introduce it early on.

Our first was about 15 months I think. Our second was around 20 months. He had a suspected allergy, so we waited until we could have him tested.

18 months and we still havent introduced dd to peanut butter. Our ped suggests 2 years. i am in no rush; the smell of peanut butter makes me gag so im happy to not keep any in the house

2.5 years.
And just FYI, no reaction to peanut oil does NOT equal no peanut allergy. The way it is broken down would not trigger the same reaction.

At 15 months. I put some on a spoon at lunch time and had her eat it up. We kept a vigilant eye on her for a reaction and saw none.

My pediatrician introduces it early as well. He told me I could start giving it as early as 10 months. I wound up not starting until 12 months.
