I love it for toiletries and cleaning products - it's so cheap! I don't go there often b/c there's not one near me, but in college, we were always at the Walmart Supercenter. They had everything! The one in Binghamton was also neat and clean.
I don't like when it's poorly kept, but I could say the same thing about some Macys.

Me too...I am a Target girl...I will shop in Walmart in CT when I am at my Dad's. but only if I have to for Bella (diapers, wipes, etc) they are a global conglomerate that keeps workers low on their priority scale...

Its weird that people find "cheap" places like Walmart, Payless, Pathmark and the others that have been brought us as "gross".
OBVIOUSLY its not going to be as gleaming clean as a higher scale store, cause its not a higher scale store, Its cheaper, the pay for employees is less, etc etc .....But I think the "its gross" comments show a shallowness ....Do you thus think the people who go to them are Gross?
I disagreed with the materialism Thread the other day, now I 100% understand why people were saying it exists.......
Target is clean- I go there all the time- I even buy clothes there- I am sure I am someone who would be considered "materistic"

I prefer Target because all the Wal Marts near us are soooooo unorganized. I think that they are usually like that in more urban areas.... I love going to wal mart when we go down south or to Wisconsin.

LOL, ahhh, one of the MANY reasons I left LI. 
Oh, and I lived upstate (central/western NY) for while and Wal-Mart was the ONLY store for miles and miles, so I got used to going there for toiletries and things like that. I have to agree though, the ones on LI are yucky.

I LOVE the SuperWalMart that we go to in the Poconos...hate the WalMarts on LI!! They suck!!
Same feeling here! We love the Super Walmarts in the Poconos & even by my summer house in Maine! The ones on LI stink, they never have anything & they are so messy!!!

Thats gonna be a Wal-Mart? I could've swore it was gonna be a Lowe's by the shape of the buidling but then they opened a new one behind Estelle's, and I was like W T F is this gonna be? Eventually another Lowe's??
So its gonna be a Walmart? 
As far as do I love it or hate it.........I've been to one upstate about 4 years ago. Haven't gone in one since.

I went to a Walmart one time. I walked in, walked around the store and walked out. Absolutely HATED it and will never go back.

You can't beat the cereal prices. We will go to Walmart maybe once a month for cereal, shampoo, cleaning products.
The one in Myrtle Beach is HELL. Its a 24 hour supercenter..3 AM there would be kids running around, it would be absolutely packed.

True - my hatred isn't really towards big business (although that is part of it), as much as Walmart's pressure tactics towards its suppliers which have resulted in an extreme degree of outsourcing, and US job loss. I just feel Walmart represents the worst of the worst. I drive by a Walmart everyday on the way to and from work and I express my hatred each time I pass (while always amazed at how FULL the HUGE parking lot is)
You have articulated very clearly my feelings about WalMart.
It's not a materialistic thing for me, it's their business practices that turn me off.

For those of you commenting on the quality of stuff, how is their quality worse than target or another store, when they are selling many of the same toiletries, pharmeceuticals, food, etc. as the other places?
