Trick or Treating - Do you leave out candy?
I left out a bowl of blow pops once. Came home and the bowl was there. Also left behind was all the sticks from the blowpops. Little monsters sat on my stoop and broke each and every lollipop and threw the sticks all over my walkway.
Never again.
But I do give to all ages - as others said I dont care. If a 50 year old walked up and rang the bell I'll give. I look at it as a small gesture of kindness. Who cares.

Re: Trick or Treating - Do you leave out candy?
I ended up leaving out a bowl from about 3:30 when we left to ToT and got back about 6... I left out a decent amount but not a ton because we don’t get a lot of kids. I recently got Ring for my front door, didn’t have many notifications but I think everyone that came must have taken quite a bit because I could see on video it was all gone within an hour... I feel bad for the kids who walked up after & were disappointed.

I don’t mind seeing younger teenagers trick or treating as long as they aren’t disrespectful in any way. Better that than shaving cream and egging, vandalizing, etc.

I missed the last two years trick or treating because of work but went last night. It was late and I saw a lot of tween/teens trick or treating. We go down this one avenue of stores.
I thought of this thread. LOL.

Re: Trick or Treating - Do you leave out candy?
The kids in our neighborhood are very respectful. I left out a bowl while we went out trick-or-treating, came back and it was still half full. Last year, we went to my in-laws, so the bowl was out until 11pm. We came home and there was actually a little candy left.
I will give candy to anyone that rings the bell. I don't have an age cut-off, that's ridiculous. I'm so over people with bad attitudes. Life is so short and there are so many terrible things in this world. Why not celebrate everything/anything you can? Is it so bad to want to find a little joy on a holiday? It's harmless fun. Why choose to be so miserable about it?
I have to say, at night, I'd rather the teens not be in costume. A couple times, it made me nervous to open the door (after dark) to people in masks.
I had a couple adults in costume (they had to be in there 20's) that rang the bell after 8pm. I gave them candy and thought they must be having a great time, how fun!
