LOL-- wow, I'm glad I didn't pick the Pope-- he was up there on my list of "dead guys to think of really quickly" Chat Icon Chat Icon

OOh my, I fear that would have created quite the stir!

LOL yeah really!

Well, I'm Catholic and I loved Pope on a Rope! That guy was great... I just have a very weird sense of humor. A lot of people don't get it but in my crazy head it makes sense.

Either way- I'm glad I held off on saying him! It is hard to think of famous dead people really fast... I almost said Diick Clark LOL but he's not dead yet... Just seems like he should be Chat Icon

Re: The View

I love Rosie and still do. Elisabeth get's pizzed off when anyone has a different opnion then her. Poor Joy was reading the list and Elisabeth kept interupting. I like Elisabeth also but why does the media have to spin it into a rosie elisabeth fight?

Why is it ok for Elisabeth to always talk about her "republican crap" but when Rosie disagrees with her it's a big deal?

Re: The View

here's the thing with Rosie

there's a way to express your opinion and there's a way not to

she's loud rude and obnoxious

granted, i don't watch this show - so if elizabeth is as bad as her, then shame on her too.

Both need to respect the fact that the others have opionons

for all the dems and gay rights people, she's doing you more harm than good.

Re: The View

I honestly back up Alicia. I don't know if I would have taken it to that extent. not everyone who supports the war is an instrument in it.

I don't think her behavior was childish. Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in any way you can. At my college graduation when they announced the deans of the colleges all of the students from that respective college cheered. My college was the only college to BOO our Dean, and we got a lot of looks. I was sititng in the front row of my college, so another college was sitting in front of me and they had a lot of comments about it, but they had NO idea what we had been through or why we were doing it. In addition most of my college did no shake our dean's hand as we walked across the stage. Some people would call that childish. To me it was the only act of defiance we were allowed to make as we graduated. It was the only way we could show that we did not approve of our Dean and what he had done.

Would you feel differently about Alicia Silverstone's act if you knew that her brother or her best friend had been killed in the war?

I completely disagree with you. She was a GUEST on that show and should have greeted everyone.

You don't go to someone's house and only greet the husband and not the wife because you don't agree on some view or another.

It's called common decency.

I saw todays argument too. ITs sooo annoying, how can anyone watch? Rosie talks over everyone. Im sorry , she is a disgrace, she cant MAKE a point cause all she does is talk loudly and put a rude air on, like shes this almighty and others are beneath her.

I cant even TELL if I agree with her because of her demeanor....

I'm completely with you on this one. As I said a few pages back, it's exactly what I'd do if I were in line to shake the president's hand: I'd keep moving.

ITA!!!!

If Alicia Silverstone cared that much about the war, she should be more proactive about change... not rude to a talk show host to 'prove her point'. She just looked silly, immature and rude. Chat Icon

What does that have to do with anything? Elizabeth didn't start the war, and she isn't a terrorist killing our soldiers in Iraq. This wasn't a peace rally; it was a talk show that she most likely asked to be on to promote whatever it is she is up to these days. It was extremely rude and she should never be asked back to the show.

What if Ann Coulter had come on the show and refused to greet Rosie? Would that be okay?

Very childish of her.
You can tell by the look on her face that Elisabeth was very hurt by that too.
I could have sworn I heard Elisabeth say in the audio, "Well okay."

Not to mention, what the hell did Elisabeth do to Alicia personally? Very high school.

I agree- I'm not Elisabeth's biggest fan, but that was uncalled for.

ITA, as well!

About the interview itself: Elisabeth continued to ask her questions and was pleasent to her - and Alicia answered back. Nothing big. It was just the inappropriate and childish "snub" in the beginning. Chat Icon
