snap n go
Fisher Price Papasan swing
Dr Brown's formula pitcher
Angel care monitor (1st)
Video monitor (got this later)
Boppy lounger pillow (she would nap/lay on this where ever we were in the house)
I'm writing stuff that initially were lifesavers....after a few months, you can try out different things...but the first few months, these were lifesavers (we still use the snap n go (sometimes), pitcher, monitors at 10 months)

Re: Tell us mommies to be..............
Video Monitor and if you have a 2 story house, 2 bouncy seats - one for upstairs (I kept it in our bathroom for when I showered) and one for downstairs.
eta: Dr. Brown's formula mixer pitcher.

Graco Snap and Go!
and the boppy pillow
and the baby nightgowns - a word of advise to them too, instead of putting them over the babys head and wrestling with the elastic, pull them up from the feet, the neck hole is big enough and its sooo much easier to get on

Re: Tell us mommies to be..............
The video monitor. I still use it almost three years later. (I know plenty of people will say they don't need one bc they are right next door, or across the hall, but so are we - and it has been INVALUABLE!) It helped with CIO, it helped now when I just put my son into his big boy bed for me to see what he is doing.

Re: Tell us mommies to be..............
I actually think it really depends on the child b/c w/ DD, I'd say my top item was the Miracle Blanket....it was a lifesaver...but then my DS didn't like it at all.
Also w/ DD having a bunch of paci's on hand (but then DS never took one)
Then w/ DS we used the snap & go all the time (I borrowed one & loved it, although I never once used it w/ DD).
I think a lot depends on the personality/temperament of your child.
I loved the disposable bibs too for restaurants.

Re: Tell us mommies to be..............
I have many:
Little Lamb Papasan Swing-I highly recommend getting a swing with a mirror for the baby to look in, DD loves it.
Boppy Pillow-for BF and for DD lounging around.
Hands Free Pumping Bra
Swaddles-we still use them even though we don't swaddle her arms b/c it acts as her blanket.
Snap n' Go
Aquafor-for diapers
Sound Machine-the womb noises put us all to sleep.
Activity Mat-DD loves it!
Video Monitor

Re: Tell us mommies to be..............
Sophie the giraffe (loves to gnaw on that thing) Cloth diapers for burp cloths (so convenient and cheap) Side snap newborn t with mittens (easy on/off and protects form sharp nails that are still too small to cut) Sleepers/ Pjs *with* fold over mittens (not all have them) Lots of mittens (for sharp nails) Disposable changing pads (saves the changing pad cover a bunch of washes) Nasal aspirator (the rubber one worked fine, although he hated it he needed it, so i see some suggested the electric one - I'd look into that) Mylicon (for gas, just in case) A good night light (for night time feedings/ changing) Multi-use waterproof pads (for everywhere they'd be laying down for spitting up, to leaky diapers) White noise machine or fan (drown out other noises while they sleep) Good swaddle blanket (we used a stretchy kind of blanket that works really well) Video monitor (for peace of mind)
