People who act like they have OCD because they like things to be very neat. If they only knew how crippling a disorder like that could be, they wouldn't go around acting like it's a cool thing to have.
People who call every headache a migraine. Same as above.
This and this. I suffer from migraines and I lose partial vision , get numbness, have trouble forming words, and throw up non stop. It's life interupting. It's not a bad headache, it's a neurological event.
Ugh me too with migraines. I hate when I say I have one and someone will say "oh I have a bad headache too". I want to tell them to STFU they have no idea. I wish it was a "bad headache".

I feel like pain is such a strange thing that people almost try to compete with each other. I have had friends tell me I have a "low" threshold for pain and I often wonder how the hell they would know if I have a high or low threshold. Is it because I don't complain about it that makes it seem like I can't tolerate it? I too suffered from horrible migraines for YEARS - luckily they stopped after I had kids (for the most part). But I have had that pain, the pain of childbirth, horrible, horrible dental pain, and excruciating recurring ear infections. I actually just broke my foot and walked around on it for a week until it became unbearable.
So I guess that brings me to my pet peeves - people who claim to have really high pain thresholds and tell others that they have low thresholds!
And, people that say "my husband just looks at me and I get pregnant." So insensitive to people that might be having trouble getting pregnant and not for nothing but if there is nothing out of line with regards to your and your husband's fertility most people will get pregnant early on. It's not something to be so proud of!

People who make everything about themselves. People who hear about someone else's tragedy and immediately want to talk about the time THEIR pet died, or ask intrusive questions to make sure that what happened to the person with the tragedy will never happen to them, or to tell them how they should skip chemotherapy and try some experimental therapy they read about online. Or they just want attention. In any event, it's all about them now.

I have family that's like this. It's embarrassing to watch them have conversations with other people because it's obvious they only care about talking about themselves. They will literally ask you a question and then cut you off when you're in the middle of a sentence (talking about something serious) just to talk about something that happened to them once. I don't even think they realize that they are so obviously self-centered. It's infuriating to talk to them.

My mil harassing me for my dd's communion day. In may or April of next year. She's trying to plan my bil's future wife's bridal shower. The wedding is in may. Just have it in early April, late march. I don't have the date and I won't for a while.

Stupid little things that piss you off
I hate when people come behind my desk at work. I'm not sure why that's become a thing, but unless I've invited you to come around my desk to look at something on my screen, you need to stay on the other side while I look up the information.

I love this thread. Thanks for bumping it!
Food pushers. Ask once if we would like something to eat, and then leave it at that. If someone says no thank you, they aren't going to change their mind and say, ok, yeah I really wanted that but didn't want to say yes until you asked for the THIRD time, thanks for being so persistent.
We were at a kid's bday party the other day and the mom was really trying to push the parents to eat. Which was nice, she got a lot of food and wanted to make sure the parents felt they could eat. I appreciate that, I really do. But we had dinner plans right after and DH is also on a very strict diet that isn't easy to explain to people and that he really doesn't like to get into with strangers because it leads to 100 questions and weird looks and him having to explain the science behind it. She must have come back like 4 times to tell us- Eat, eat. Just go eat SOMETHING. Like practically begging us to eat. I had explained politely that we had dinner reservations right after the party. But she kept insisting to the point where I finally got up and just took something small to quiet her down. Another mom I am friends with who was there also did the same- took something even though she also had dinner plans right after and didn't want anything. And then she starts in on DH and he had to finally tell her about his dietary restrictions and she kept saying, well just a taste. You can have just a taste. No actually, he can't. Ughhhh- it's so annoying.
And I notice a lot of people- especially older people- are like this.

I hate food pushers. They just don’t seem to understand. It’s like telling someone who is depressed to just get over it. Maybe I’m just super sensitive to all of this because I’m going through a lot of stress and I’m struggling with eating, but I just ignore it. I eat when I can, and I don’t need a food pusher to tell me to eat.

I’ve been vegetarian for 20+ years.
I haven’t died of starvation, and yet when I go to restaurants, people - relatives, friends, coworkers - tell me what vegetarian options are on the menu as we’re sitting at the table looking at the same effing menu.
REALLY?!

If it helps, I'm in North Carolina and we're supposed to get snow this weekend. Certainly not as much as NY but it's still unusual for the South!

This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
People who do not put their shopping carts back to a designated area. It's not that hard and everyone could use the 10 extra steps on their day!

The bag tax in Suffolk. And now, anytime I go to a store, the cashier just stares at me rather than bagging my stuff. Hello! I clearly don't have a bag so if you think I'm carrying $75 worth of crap out of CVS in my arms you are a dumbass. Oh and to add to that, i love how a lot of stores have now changed to paper bags and still charge you the .05!

Oh, you would be so annoyed in Germany. I bring my own bags because plastic bags are 20 cents. I think paper is 25 cents. They never pack up your stuff, so you have to organize it nice on the Rollband (forgot the English word, sorry) and pack it up yourself.
I’ve gotten it down to a science and I make all the cashiers laugh with how prepared I am.
I like the bag charge in Suffolk. I hope the rest of the country follows suit, especially after seeing the plastic bag barge in the Pacific.

I'm glad it's not just me that is getting the impression that lately cashiers no longer feel like they need to do their job and bag my stuff??

The signs I've read about the county tax is that it is applicable to both paper and plastic.

My irritation doesn't come from the material of the bag itself per se, but it annoys me that this was marketed as a "save the earth" campaign and its absolutely not. The whole thing annoys me because the intention has nothing to do with helping the environment. IMO, its a tax break disguised for the benefit of business to help them reduce their cost of operation by giving them a little back all while giving off the appearance of saving the planet. And, yes, I'm sure it will reduce the usage of plastic bags in the long run, but I do not think that was the intention of this .05 charge, it's just an added benefit.
And while I'm on my little rant here...another thing that drives me nuts is when the cashier forgets to charge me for the bag(s) after I'm all paid for and then wants to do another order for the bags. Um, no. Target can eat the $.10.
