Q from a preggo - how far is your pediatrician from your home?
i am starting to look into which pediatrician to use, i have a couple on my list.... but i was wondering if it makes a difference how far their office is from your home? is 15-20 minutes away okay? is it important to have one very close to your house?

My ped is only 3 towns over, but it takes about 20 minutes to get there from my house with traffic. I think 20 minutes is fine. Any real emergencies you'll be going to the ER, KWIM?

Their office is about 10 minutes from my house. While there were other pediatricians who had closer offices to my home, I went with the one I liked the best.

Same here...I agree, if it were a true emergency, you probably wouldn't be going to the peds office.

15-20 min seems fine.
Our pediatrician is about 10 minutes away, but sometimes we hit a little traffic and it can take up to 20 minutes.

Ditto. I delivered at Winthrop and when we took the tour, the nurse was talking to us about picking pediatrician and she recommended they be no more than 200 mins. from your house.

Our ped is 2 towns over and it takes me about 15 mins to get there. I think 15-20 mins is fine! Good luck!

We live in S. Setauket and ped is in Ronkonkoma, its about a 10-15 min drive.

Too far, but only b/c we have moved since I had my first DS but I love my ped  It's literally 25 min away - such a PITA. But until we're totally done and the youngest is at least 2, we'll be sticking with him as I am very comfortable with his schedule (both of visits and shots).

Our PED is about 20 minutes away. I did struggled with the distance at first, but I trust her and really couldn't imagine using another DR. Like a PP said if it is a true emergency you will go to the ER anyway.

Mine is between 15-20 minutes. HE is the best though and I wouldn't go to anyone else. I won't lie, it's a pain sometimes when the boys are sick and I have to go a few times in a row - but that rarely happens (knock on wood)
