Didn't appeal to me.

Am I missing something? DOESeNT it hurt like hell???
And do you have to SHOW your hello kitty (thanks nene for that term) to the technician doing the waxing?
Do you shave beforehand so it's not SO hairy?

don't feel bad about not getting it done just bc others do. If it doesn't seem like your thing thats fine! I don't get waxed either. I just would rather not deal with the pain, I don't want to look like a 12 year old and also for health reasons...it's there for a reason and it's perfectly ok not to remove it.
Trim it, shape it...whatever you want to do...but if you're only considering waxing it bc you feel like the odd ball out...know that you are not...at all.

here is the down and dirty *no pun intended * LOL
you go in to the waxing room and typically they ask you to take off your pants and underwear
some places will give you some disposable undies but really there's no point- they are seeing it all anyway
you typically lay on a waxing table with a leg spread
they wear gloves and it goes pretty quick. if you are getting a brazillian they will literally get all up in there. if its just a bikini its not so bad. they also will trim it afterward with scissors or a razor depending on what you want.
its really not too bad.
i prefer to wax it than to shave. :)

Got it done once, never again. If you're going completely bare that also involves getting up on all 4s so they can get the back. Hurts like a beyotch too. Had I known that I would have stuck with shaving. It's not for me at all.

I think it depends on where you get it done.
When I first got it done, i used a french wax place in the city downtown. it was all natural, no muslin strips used. Got tired of going into the city and went on long island.
I will NEVER get a brazillian at a nail salon (HORRIBLE!!)
I take a pain reliever about an hour before I go. I have never felt that much pain, except in the nail salon.

I've been doing it for years and have never had to get up on all 4s.
If someone is legitimately interested, I would recommend going to a reputable place, NOT a nail salon. That is not somewhere you want them double dipping. Also, the soft wax, like European Wax Center uses (promise I don't work there  ) hurts MUCH less than the strips.

Go to European wax center , they are really good! Try just getting a regular wax this time, then decide if you want to do Brazilian.

It totally depends on the place. NEVER go to a nail salon - go to a place that specializes in waxing down there (think European Waxing Center).
I used to get in done a few years ago and loved it. It was so easy, but the growing out process sucks big time!
I actually started growing it out to go get a brazillian about a month ago, and gave up and shaved because I was so darn uncomfortable during the growing out phase!!!
You forget about the pain by the time you walk out the door. I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons!!

I just went last weekend to European wax in massapequa. It hurts but for a second. I'm sick of shaving. They see EVERYTHING but whatever. All lady parts look similar. My DH was thrilled.

I waxed till I got pregnant. Right now everything is just too sensitive but I plan to get waxed once I have her. Hair bothers me and I feel cleaner without it plus in the summer I don't have to worry about missing spots.
