I was thinking about it this time too. I never got it done before. I know a lot of people recommend Posh in Babylon. I have a c/s scar though, I'm not sure if it would be ok to wax over that, but at almost 28 weeks it's very hard for me to keep up, I cant see either!

Re: Getting waxed before delivery?
I went at 38 w last pregnancy (on my OB's advice, actually). It was a strange experience and hurt a lot (I guess it was more sensitive) but it was nice not having to deal with that for a bit! The lady made fun of me for my reaction to the pain and asked how I thought I was going to have a child.
I'm not in NY any more so no suggestions as to where to go. When I lived in Brooklyn I went somewhere on 7th Ave in Park Slope. But honestly I think anywhere is fine... I kinda went somewhere that I wasn't going back to any time soon (a little out of the way) because I was a little timid about the whole thing lol.

Re: Getting waxed before delivery?
I am a waxer so for me the pain wasn't anything that I wasn't used to. I would definitely suggest it, I love the 'cleaner' feeling that you have for weeks
Carissa, you can wax over your c-section scar. It's not that bad.

Ohh thanks for letting me know! How long does it last? Im afraid if I go to early I'll have to get it again before delivery and I might back out if it hurt too much lol.

Re: Getting waxed before delivery?
I have been waxing for years and I still go every month. It hurts the first time but after that its not bad. It depends on the wax they use and how good the waxer is. The strips are the most painful (IMO). The place I go uses a wax that pulls right off AND she is quick - like 10-15 min.

Re: Getting waxed before delivery?
I have been getting waxed for years, but just talked to my waxer recently about how many pregnant women she does. She said she's had women stop by for an appt on the way to the hospital!
So, I will be seeing her more regularly towards the end. The place is called Sonia's, on Larkfield Road in E. Northport and they are all great there. It's the least painful brazilian I've ever had, and yes, they will trim you up and take care of you. They ALWAYS make me feel really comfortable.
Good luck!

I used to go here!! I only left to follow Bia who left and opened her own shop but the wax they use is what I was talking about.

Re: Getting waxed before delivery?
Do it....take it from me! I had an appt for a wax when I was 36 weeks with DD. Well my water broke early and in all my panic we rushed to the hospital with me still a barbarian! I was apologizing to the nurses the whole time. They kept laughing and telling me I was being silly, but I was mortified! Yes, I know they've seen worse, but that didn't help at the time. lol.

Definitely go to Daisy spa! It is painful but worth it! I was just there a couple of weeks ago - I think Deedee is on vacation right now, but she has someone else working there now...forgot her name.
ETA: It lasts about 4 weeks and no problem at all with the c scar.
