maybe a dumb question...
Sorry if this is dumb but I just don't know lol....
So after we had our mc in late june and I went to the doc and found out I do not ovulate every month..she suggested I come in 3 months before we try and get some more bloodwork done and start taking pre natals...so that means next month I am going to see her...so here. Is my dumb question..
If I start taking the prenatals oct 1st...dh and I are going away mid oct..do they make u feel sick or anything? I don't want to feel sick while we r away and if they make u feel any diffrent I will wait to start taking them..
Thanks and I can't wait to start posting here more often!!!!

They shouldn't make you feel sick, but as PP mentioned they can cause constipation.

Re: maybe a dumb question...
Everyone is different but I think in general you will find that they dont really cause any bad symptons. I have been feeling just feel while on my prenatals.
ETA: They do make me constipated but I just take docusate sodium capsule once a day to help with that. But I have always suffered from occasional constipation the prenatals just make it a little worse but not to the point where it would make me stop taking them

Re: maybe a dumb question...
I also take the Target ones and I haven't had any issues. I have a really sensitive stomach and a lot of things make me sick but I have been taking them for four months with no side effects.

Re: maybe a dumb question...
i take the target brand ones, with two stool softeners just in case. i didn't even give myself a chance to be constipated, bc I have some problems to begin with.

Re: maybe a dumb question...
You can buy them now and try them for a week then stop while you're going away if they make you feel uncomfortable.
I used to take just regular women's one a day then I switched to one a day prenatal when we started TTC. Once I was PG, my OB gave me about 15 different sample packs of pills to try for a few days at a time to see which one I liked best. The ones with stool softeners actually made me feel most sick.
I take prenate essential (it's a single pill with everything in it, very easy to get down) and I take it at night before I go to sleep (you're not supposed to lie down for 10 minutes after taking it so I take it before I wash up for bed). I haven't had any issues with it. Never really had any issues with any one-a-day pills either. You just never know. DH has stomach issues from taking centrum so he's switching to a different vitamin.
I'm sure it'll work out!

Some people feel sick with them. I haven't had any problems - just make sure I take them with food in the morning!

Re: maybe a dumb question...
I would say if they make you feel sick, then switch to a different brand! Your first tri will make you feel crappy enough, may as well take a vitamin you are comfortable with! I feel fine on mine. Just remember to take them WITH FOOD!!!!!!!! (when I was pregnant last time, the only time I threw up was when I took them on an empty stomach- I think that was the reason)

Re: maybe a dumb question...
yeah I agree they don't really make you sick. . sometimes they made me a little queasy but mostly if I took them without food. .and if one does you can switch to another brand. . .and if you don't want to start taking prenatals completely you are also really fine with Folic acid and some omega 3-s - or even just folic acid and that doesn't do much at all to upset you and is prob the most important at your stage
