I dont think they need it while feeding. DS always spit up after though(he was a big spitter for a while)...so using a bib probably would have been a little helpful for that reason. I think most of the spit up would hit the burp cloth and if it was bad on his clothes i changed him.

My DD never did. I ususally kept a burp cloth nearby when she was an infant though.

I didn't use one and didn't think to, but I probably should have, especially with DS. After my let down, milk was always spilling out of his mouth.
