Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

I went to BBB for the first time yesterday...and I really liked the layout! Way better than BRU, IMO. I guess because it was so familiar, being a Bed Bath & Beyond layout and I practically LIVE at that store. So easy to get around and know exactly where things are.

And the other advantage I thought of - the 20% off coupons!!

Oh...and I preferred the selection of Yankees clothes. Chat Icon

Anyone else prefer BBB to BRU?

Or anyone here like BRU better than BBB?

Discuss...Chat Icon

I only registered at BBB - I'm not a fan of BRU!

Re: Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

Tara- I agree that BBB has a nice layout and is well organized. However, I didn't register at BBB for two reasons 1) because there isn't one close to us and 2) because there aren't as many in other states and I have a lot of friends and family that are out of state.

yeah that's pretty much why I chose BRU too....I was really only familiar with BRU in my area anyway, but I finally checked out the BBB which really isn't that far from me.

And I'm sure the return policy is WAY better- probably similar to the wedding registry return policy which I LOVED. Who doesn't love getting cash?Chat Icon

Re: Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

I love love love BBB!!!! I will most likely register there and do a few things at BRU (things that we won't likely return) ONLY because the majority of people coming to my shower are in Suffolk and there's no BBB out there. If it were up to me (my mom freaked out on me that we were just doing BBB), I wouldn't do BRU at all!

Re: Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

only reason i didnt register at BBB along with BRU is because there are NO BBB anywhere near me..so for me it's more about being able to just pop in and SEE what I am picking out..that's just how I am.

I feel the same sometimes. The main reason I did not register there is because there aren't enough of them around to make it convenient enough for people to shop at.

I love BBB too, I wouldn't register at BRU due to their ridiculous return policy :)

Re: Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

I honestly like BBB much better but chose to register at both bc there were certain things i didnt find at BBB and only found at BRU. So it worked well to do the 2 registries. However, BRU is constantly saying things on my registry are out of stock and it is sooooo annoying!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

BBB is so much better. I would rather travel the extra 20 minutes to go there than BRU.

Re: Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

Please don't have this discussion on the day I finally finalized my registry at BRU! Chat Icon I sure hope all goes well with returning and exchanging. Seems as long as I'm within the 90 days, I should be okay. And with all of the research and hands on touching of products and sibling experience, I do not see me not needing anything that I've registered for. I'll return doubles and unregistered things right away.

I've only been in BBB two times, two different stores, and that was pretty much right to the furniture department at the time I was looking for a nursery set. I don't even want to look to see if they have better options, sales, patterns, etc. Chat Icon But yes... Bed Bath & Beyond was awesome with the wedding registry. We just do not have many stores near us.

What I do know is that BBB had the flocked no slip hangers that I love for my closet, in baby size and BRU does not! Chat Icon However, in research, I did find them on HSN.com and in lots of pretty colors so I'm going to just order them myself!Chat Icon

The only problem I had with the 90 days was I finished my registry early on in my pregnancy and there were things that were bought off my registry early on too. By the time my shower came around (and for some of the gifts that trickled in after the shower) I missed the 90 day mark because a lot people bought early. Luckily I didn't have to return much though. I did have a bunch of stuff from my registry that I got from a family member out of state so I didn't get the gift for a long while and everything ended up being duplicates of what I already had received. When I went to return it to BRU they gave me a hard time because it was the 91st day!! Are you kidding me??!! Everything was on my registry for goodness sake!! I was a maniac and asked for the manager and caused a stink so I got my $180 credit but they are impossible to deal with at BRU. Just a heads up. Chat Icon

I am registering at BBB, and for those who live far or out of state , they can order it online and ship it. I just like BBB so much better for many of the reasons listed by PP's .

I chose BRU for the same reason. Most of our family on the island is out east so it's a hike for everyone to go to BRU, must less BBB.

Re: Man, why didn't I register at BBB?

I registered at BBB, b/c of all the problems my friends had returning at BRU and b/c I hate shopping at BRU when I had to get stuff for other people, they never help you out finding things for the registry.

BBB is completely different story, I have at least 2 people asking me if I need any help every time I walk in there.

The lack of locations is a downfall, but that's why I have the registry online, everyone that does not live by a BBB has internet access and can just order online, and never have to set foot in a store...it's a win-win in my book!Chat Icon

There's a BBB in Huntington by the Walt Whitman Mall.

I am registering at BRU for the main reasoning of having a lot of family from OOS & they don't have BBB there,

For the same reason as PPs, I registered at BRU due to the locations. I do love BBB though, they layout, the selection, etc. I find myself shopping and browsing there often.

On a side note, I had no problems returning items at BRU. I was even able to return items that I received that I had no gift receipt for and were not on my registry.
