DO they mean having it early on???
cuz my SIL has 2 and that's the ONLY line she got...no stretch marks or anything, just that big dark line down her stomach...
she still has it her 2nd DD is 2 months now
She didn't have it early on in the pregnancy though, it came late

We all were in the bathroom in my L&D class comparing lines and it was exactly true -- all the s had small lines & all the s had lines that went all the way up.

That one is definitely not true, sorry to say lol. I know a lot of people who had it and some had girls, some had boys. I never had one last time and I had a boy. I have a theory (have NO idea if it's there's any truth to it, just based on experience of all my friends) that you either get a linea nigra or stretch marks (or neither)- but you don't het both. I've surveyed seriously at least 10 or 12 friends and not one had both!

Not a silly question! Yes, it goes away after birth, but not immediately. It usually fades very slowly and can take weeks or months to fully disappear.

I maybe had a slight line for my first at the VERY end
but my 2nd nothing and this one nothing so far (35w)
I thought it's due to pigment...I'm fair skinned. I thought if you have a darker skin tone you are more likely to get it.
