Re: i need advice.. regarding BDing
I guess this is a silly question then, but is the only point of OPK to predict for future months, since it is already past the fertile time when you test positive?

Did you have EWCM before your pos OPK? Or even after? Since my mc, I haven't had much EWCM to speak of until this past month. I had tons the month I got pregnant and this month I had it again. I've been taking vitex and omega 3-6-9 this month and I'm almost postitive that's what made the difference (EWCM on CD19, didn't ovulate until CD22). Unfortunately, DH and I were apart when I ovulated and weren't able to take advantage, so I can't say for sure that a lack of EWCM is why I haven't gotten pregnant again, but I am excited for this month and hoping I have it again!

Don't forget to pay attention to your EWCM. That is your body's signal to you that you are the most fertile.

when you get a positive on the test you are not past your fertile time.. you are in the MOST fertile time and you should O the next day or the day after that.

You're not past your fertilie time when you get an OPK, but it's not an exact science. Sperm can live in EWCm for up to 5 days, so it's best to BD whenever you see it. You can certainly get pregnant the day you O or even the day after, but ideally I would want to be BDing at least every other night before getting a positive OPK to have some swimmers up there and waiting.

OK, but the two days leading up are even more fertile then? I haven't started with the kits... I tried my first month after going off BCP but I'm not sure that I O'd at all that month-

i really didnt have any EWCM before or after O.. there was CM but not alot of it and i really would have been able to tell if was EW.. i personally didnt think so..
so i dont know how it works now.. if you dont have EWCM you cant get PG? we got pregnant so fast the last time i didnt even notice if i did or not at that time.

Many women have gotten PG without EWCM, but the more you read about it, the more you realize it is important. It definitely increases your chances of getting pregnant. Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility?

Re: i need advice.. regarding BDing
another note about EWCM is that some women don't see a lot of it down at the opening, meaning on the toilet paper, but have it high at the cervix. that could be the case with you as well. i never noticed a lot when i wiped but last month took Mucinex and there was definitely more.

so if thats the case, and its higher up by my cervix.. does that mean its not good? that they wouldnt be able to swim up there?
i am using preseed too, so i heard that helps as well.. i might look into the robitussin.. ill do anything at this point

Re: i need advice.. regarding BDing
I wouldn't worry b/c I had a similar scenario. The month I got pregnant, we BDed on the day of my positive OPK, the following day, then he hurt his back the next day so we couldn't. We ended up doing it the next day (even though I thought it might be too late). I still got my BFP!

I had used the internal one so I don't have experience with the external stuff. I'm sure it is probably great also though!

Re: i need advice.. regarding BDing
With DH, I stopped telling him about the most fertile times to BD because it put too much pressure on him. I would just jump him when I knew the time was right.
Also, CM up around the cervix is FINE- believe me-the little guys are being deposited right where they need to be by DH .
Also- charting temps is NOT for predicting O times. Charting temps will CONFIRM O. For example- there were a few times that I got +OPKs but did not O for a few more days (delayed O). Because of charting, I KNEW that even though I had gotten +OPKs on CD15 and 16, I didn't O until CD20. Had I just gone by the OPKs, I might have missed my optimal time to BD.
ETA: With DD#1 we only BDed on the day I got my +OPK. I think you're timing was just fine!

I think this month's schedule was just fine even if you did O on CD15. The cycle we conceived, I suspect I O'd on CD18. We BD on CD14 & not again until CD 17 & 18. It only takes one time!

I had the same situation. Following Deanna's plan, We BD on CD8, CD10,CD12 received the smiley face on CD13 but DH couldnt perform. :( I was so upset! We did BD on CD14 twice - hope that made up for it! Today is CD15, how many more days must I BD in a row?
We're shot!

I don't have much advice just some and !
DH and I are following Deana's plan too. We BD on CD 8, CD 10, CD 12, CD 13, CD 14. I think I O'd today which is CD 15. DH is working an insane amount of hours today. We may try tomorrow. I am hoping we are good with the days prior to O because I did have some EWCM on those days!
Good luck!!!

I think you BD'd enough. When we got pregnant, we actually had BD'd only 5, 4, 3 and 2 days prior to ovulation! So, we didn't BD the day before or the day of!
sorry to hijack as we are not TTC again yet, but when i got pregnant with DS it was the same for us. we were BDing every other day for almost 2 weeks prior to Oing (i had irregular periods so we wanted to play it safe) and then i got a yeast infection (from all the BDing ) the day after i got my 1st + on the OPK, so we couldnt do it from them on and i still got pregnant. I think as long as you do it leading up to ovulation, you still have a chance
