I will definately be going with my kids. I went once and really enjoyed it. It IS the happiest place on earth. Even before I had children, I still had a great time.

My DH's neice is getting married there in May and I DREAD going....DH's brother is upset that we are only staying for the wedding and not for a few more days for a hopper pass (whatever that is). I'm like, "umm, because we are 36?"

Have you ever gone before? It is not just for kids. We have gone 3 times without the kids and would do it again.

Yes, I've been there several times.

To each his/her own.

I guess. I thought you never went as you didn't know what the hopper pass was.

Maybe they didn't have them when I went (I was 10 or 11 the last time I went). Anyway, now you know. Chat Icon

Re: I don't understand...

we are that couple that went to disney on our hm. BUT, we did not wear the bride and groom ears at all.

in all honesty, we went there about 6 years ago for our first vacation and it was so much fun. we knew we were going to go back for our hm. are we obsessed? hardly. disney is a very expensive habit, we can't afford it. and we have been to other places. i can't imagine going there every year though.

Re: I don't understand...

I've gone twice as an adult.
First time I was 19 and dating DH (then boyfriend). We went by ourselves...so needless to say, we had fun- Chat Icon

Second time we went, I was 28 and pregnant with our first child...not fun!!!

Next time we'll go is when my little one is 5- in about 3 years. I can't wait to see my boys' reactions.

As an adult, it's ok. From a child's perspective, it's gotta be "magical".

Re: I don't understand...

I don't understand it either. My sister and her husband are disney obsessed. They went there for their honeymoon and go every year for their vacation. I just don't get it at all.
I am not going to Disney until I have kids old enough to enjoy it. I would rather enjoy adult places with DH now beofre we have kids and save the kiddie places for later.

I haven't been to Disney/Epcot in 10 years - so I'm looking forward to going now that we're Florida residents and can go at an off time and get a deal. Looking much more forward to Epcot than Disney though.

Never understood the honeymoon thing either - last thing I ever want is to be surrounded by that many children - but that's what makes us all different!

I love Disney. Their is so much to do in Disney. It's not all about the kids. It's the one place you can be a kid again. The illumination is awesome, main street, and surprisinly their is history with Disney. Their's golf courses, places to get a massage, and always something to do.

I am a Disney Specialist and have learned a lot about Disney. In November they have a wine festival. And their are special events that do happen through out the year.

I dont have an obsession with Disney but I do enjoy just being a big kid once in a while Chat Icon

Re: I don't understand...

I'm not obsessed but I do LOVE Disney and plan on going back a few more times even before having children. Like others have said it is the one place I can go on vacation and forget about any of the troubles or worries I had back at home. I take plenty of vacations to foreign countries and around the US and enjoy them all, but I can honestly say that my HAPPIEST vacation memories are at Disney

But overall I love disney bc of the amusement rides, the livelihood, and the happy people.

What is a Disney specialist?

I had taken special courses through Disney to learn about each of the Destinations (WDW, WDL and WD Cruises) which provided me with the skills and knowledge to sell Disney destinations. I did this through my old agency but since the company I am with now is the sister/marketing company for my old agency everything stays the same for me.

Once in a while I take online tutorials, webinars and utilizing Independent Familiarization opportunities or formal on-site training experiences.

It's great because anyone whose looking to do Disney I can give them great pointers Chat Icon

This is my second time ever going to WDW. I only go because I help DH with a convention he has at one of the resorts. I will admit that I love to do the Richard Petty Experience...that is the only thing I enjoy about Disney.

That is not a "Disney Vacation" though. I have driven into disney while staying in FL and it is just not the same. You have to have the hotel experience and the bus experience.

I absolutely LOVE Disney. Like some have mentioned it is just such a happy place, that brings you back to your youth. The attention to detail is amazing and have had nothing but amazing service & experiences there. I actually didn't have fun there as a child but have been there twice w/ DH as an adult and we both were so happy with it. We plan on going back many times (every few years or so).

BUT having said that, I too get freaked out by fanatics. I personally feel that no adult should ever wear any cartoon character on an article of clothing LOL. I'm not into the merchandise at all, I just love vacationing there.

Its not my thing but to each their own. I havent been there since I was 13. My dad used to take me and my sister every year for about 10 years to all the Disney parks. We could take it or leave it. My dad saw it as a family vacation where we had no say.

As far as adults going there, hey I go to Vegas every year!
