No way. He never gets me anything for admin prof. day and he is certainly in a better position monetarily then me to be gift giving.
I think the whole concept is a joke.
A boss or employee shouldn't need a "day" to show appreciation. If you wanted to show gratitude it can be done in numerous ways any day of the week.
It's really just another "Hallmark" holiday. A day created for stationary stores to make money.

I'm here today, that's his gift.
I don't think anyone here recognizes that it's National Boss Day, if they did and were collecting then I'd contribute to be a good corporate citizen but this isn't something I'd initiate.

Mine is out on maternity leave, plus, i dont think any of us ever heard of this 'holiday' before  If we knew, and if she wasn't out, i totally would've chipped in- she's awesome! but, i voted 'hell no' only b/c it was the only "no" option up there

I like my boss, but this still never occurs to me.
It would proabaly be weird to start now--she has been my boss for 9 years & none of the other bosses are recognized.

I actually just found out it was today maybe an hour ago. I feel bad but maybe on my lunch break I will pick up some scratch off's or something. I love my 2 bosses; they are the GREATEST guys to work for!!!!! I am so lucky and we are very close.
