Fevers
My 15 month old son has his first fever since yesterday. It was 103 when he woke up. We gave him Motrin and a cool bath which only got it down to 101. I gave Tylenol 3 hours later to piggy back. It's still at 101. Is it normal to not go down all the way? He won't eat anything today. Yesterday he took only milk. Call the dr or just ride it out? No other symptoms except being whiny.

Re: Fevers
For a fever I usually call the doctor bc my boy's only get fevers if there's a virus or an infection. I know there's nothing they can do if it's a virus, but I feel better knowing what it is and what I can do for it or how long it will last. This way if it's gets worse the doctor still has everything on file.
It could be an infection that needs an antibiotic. Never know. Rather play it safe. Especially when it comes to LO's.

Agree with PP. Every time DS has had a fever that high it was a result of an infection. I would take him in just to make sure he doesn't need antibiotics. Hope he feels better soon!

Thanks! I thought he was getting better yesterday but the fever returned late afternoon so I'm bringing him in this morning! He's never been sick before so this is all new territory for me.
