Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Well I did I couldn't believe I even had this conversation. Apparently it took her a year to conceive me and not very long (I didn't need her to tell me this) with my brothers. My second brother and I are 18mos apart and then my youngest brother came 2 years later.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
no...i wish i could....but my mom doesn't know we're actively ttc'ing...
to be honest - she's an alcoholic - so i'll tell her something one day and the next she won't remember....so there's no point.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Not with my mom, no. she had us all within 3 years, so I don't think there were any issues.
my MIL, on the other hand, offered up that it took her awhile, a year or two, I can't remember, to have my DH. Then when they wanted to have another they started "right away." Even though DH and my BIL are 4 years apart.

Yes, many times. It took my parents about a year and a half to conceive me and with my brother it happened right away. We first had the discussion when I learned I had PCOS.

Yup, She concieved all 4, yes 4 kids, by accident!! She gets mad at me for testing.. I'm like "ma, you never had to try ever" "you have no idea what I am going through". She is getting a little more sensitive since the first IUI didn't work. But still.. She has NOOO idea. None at all.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Yup. It was always a topic in my house since my mother suffered from unexplained IF. One of my brothers and I products of Clomid, although with me, my mother said she stopped taking Clomid and 4 months later got pregnant. She said I was conceived on prayer, but the doctors told her that clomid can stay in your body for some months.
It took my mother a long time to get pregnant and most doctors she saw told her the IF was all in her head.
My other brothers and sister are adopted, and again, it has always been an open dialogue.

Noooooooo! lol
I feel like my mom is a little kid, there are certain shows and movies I don't let her watch, lol. I know it sounds silly, but I feel like I'm the mom, she seems so innocent. She doesn't curse and never raises her voice.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Yup!!! I even discussed it prior to when we were TTC. My brother was a HM baby & complete "shock" since my mom was only 21 & just came off BCP. My brother was such a bad baby, that it took then 5 years to have me but again, my mom got pregnant immediately with me!!!

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Yes, we do..my mom had trouble conceiving as well and she knows I am going through IF treatments. The one thing I had to tell her was to calm down (lol) because she was getting over-excited and I said please don't get all of your hopes - because nothing is guaranteed and the disappointment hurts.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
There is no way I could discuss this with my mom. She would be one of those people (even though she will mean well), calling me everyday saying...."well"????
My grandmother different story...I tell her everything. She forgets after a day so it makes it easier.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Yes, I talk to my mom about it all the time. She really didn't have trouble conceiving, but also had very irregular periods that seemed to get more regular after she had me. My sister was an OOPS baby and my brother was planned and not hard to conceive. From what I understand it seems that once you have one baby, it's almost like your body can't wait to do it again.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
We just recently had that conversation. She left out the "gory" details, so I actually happy that we had "the talk" I was actually surprised...there's a 7 year difference between my older bro & my twin bro & I, so I'd assumed that she had had problems. It just turns out that my older bro was such an active handful that it took them 6 years to recover She made me laugh...she had no problems, so my fingers are crossed that mine are over now

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Yes I have. My mother didn't know we we're TTC until I had my m/c. I'm so glad she knows now. It's so much easier to be able to talk to her about it because none of my friends have been here yet. My mother also miscarried her second pregnancy, and then she went on to have 3 more healthy chidren, which makes me feel better.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
Yes, my and my mother are very close so we talk about everything! She had no time to change her mind with me she got preggo right away, it took her a while and one m/c before she had my sister (we are 7 years apart, but she was only trying for 1 of those years). Seems I was the product of too much wine and homemade ice cream while on vacation upstate one weekend!

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
My mom told me that after her and my father got married, she waited 3 months for the health insurance to kick in. and that they tried the first month, and got pregnant the 2nd month.
My mom said how upset she was it didnt happen the first month.

Yes. She had no problem conceiving me or my sister. When my parents tried for a 3rd child they experienced 2 miscarriages and decided that they couldn't handle trying again.

I try, but she just doesn't get it. The longest she tried for me was six month, one other was planned and two were by accident. She just doesn't get why I'm upset at not getting pregnant for a year now.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
I have with my mom and my dad also. I was laughing so hard because my dad said when they were trying for my older sister my mom got a D & C to help with getting preggo but it took awhile for them and my mom kept pulling my dad out of work every time her temp was at the right time or if she was Oing My mom keeps telling me to do it on the 10, 12, and 14 day.

Re: Ever discuss TTC with you mom and her experience??
I am dreading even telling my mother when I get the BFP. It will be like unleashing her unfiltered TMI problem.
I am a very private person in "real life" - probably because my Mom would discuss her CM with a stranger on the bus.....she would JUMP at the chance go thru a blow by blow of my TTC folleys and pregnancy with say the girls in her office, random neighbors, the poor mailman, my 85 year old GRANDPA ect...... yuuuck.
I envy girls who can have a normal honest, private convo about this with their Mothers! You girls are lucky!!!!!
