I wasn't even going to go there trust me...We never even had the "sex talk" but it just happened because I was upset....I am glad that it happened though.

I haven't told my mom. We have a great relationship but I want her to be surprised. I know she will pester me everyday about it and tell her sister everything I tell her! (She's been doing that my whole life!!)

It took my parents no time to have my older sister and it was the same with me as well. Both of us were first or second-month tries. After me, my dad got "fixed" so my mom didn't have to endure any more procedures. My sister is disabled, so my mother will be very aware of how every step of TTC is going when we do officially TTC. In my situation, getting the history is very important.

My Mom just tells me that she gained 75 lbs with both pregnancies  and her and my dad had the "Whatever happens mentality"..... Guess what???? ............I Happened!!!!!
But right now she doesn't know that we are going to start trying this summer... I'm trying to lose weight first, and sometimes she makes comments about me losing weight before getting pregnant... Sometimes I know mothers try to help, but sometimes they just don't get it, If you have nothing NICE to say.... well we all know the rest......

I did, just last week actually. She shared a lot with me that I didn't know. She was on bedrest for her entire 2nd trimester. Apparently I was not an easy pregnancy. She also had 2 miscarriages before me.
It was very enlightening.

Never had a TTC talk w/my Mom because she passed away several years ago, but I do recall her telling me she had a few miscarriages before giving birth to my Brother. I also recall finding out she almost died having a c-section w/me.

We have. I was an "accident" and my sister took 6 months to conceive of really trying. However she doesn't know we are TTC....I want it to be a surprise.

I did. The woman was clueless. It really made me wonder if both my brother and I were immaculate conceptions! 
My mom is my best friend, but she was a little lost on this one. Poor dad!

Oh yeah and here is what she said:
"All your father had to do was touch his belt buckle and I was pregnant."
Needless to say, my father's pants were always falling down. Mom and Dad were breeders

I am close with my mom, but for some reason this conversation has never come up- and I always wondered because my parents waited a long time-9 years to have me-she has always said it was because she married young and career stuff, but I'm not sure....I just don't feel comfortable asking

I have not and do not plan on discussing TTC with my mother. However, I do know that they had fertility issues when trying to conceive me, but no issues with my older and younger sister.

Yes, but I asked in a vague sort of way for now. I just told her I was wondering if I could handle being pregnant and working as if it were all just hypothetical for now... Like I was deciding if i wanted to start TTC... i.e., how sick did she feel when she was pregnant? She said she felt sick right away and for the entire first month, but after that she had a fairly easy time. She said she worked throughout pregnancy without a problem.

I am an only child and I was a HM baby. The women in my family are all pretty fertile. I am the one struggling with IF issues.
