Drinking in the 2WW
I was just curious what the general consensus on this is. I'm supposed to go out this weekend and I was thinking of playing the designated driver card but I'm a little worried that its going to cause suspicion. How bad is it if I have a light beer and nurse it all night?

I wouldn't change any of your habits during the 2ww -- that is unless you use drugs.
Live it up --- enjoy the moment ---blood isn't shared with the baby until 6 weeks anyway......
If you give up drinking and other stuff during your 2ww it will make getting a negative that much harder..... just my opinion

this. i'm not much of a drinker but since TTC i had completely given it up - i'd barely have a glass of wine even if i wasn't in the 2ww. same with taking anything for a migraine or back pain i suffer from. after months and months of bfn, i think it's time to go back to living my life and changing habits once i actually get a bfp. it's not like any of us wouldn't know that we are pregnant til a few months in, we're talking 2 weeks or less. if you want to have a few drinks, have em i say

Re: Drinking in the 2WW
I used to stop drinking during the 2ww, not that I"m a big drinker anyway, but now that it's been several months, I will let myself enjoy a glass of wine with dinner and not think twice about it. You don't share a blood line until 6 weeks anyway.

Re: Drinking in the 2WW
honestly, i had way too many drinks during this 2ww and i ended with a BFP anyway!
the past 2 2ww's i did nothing...no drinking and no working out.
this 2ww i decided to go about my business, so i worked out like a mad woman even lost a fewl bs! drank a lot around o date and drank a bottle of wine for my bday this past monday and on tuesday i had the IB and wednesday i got my BFP! i guess we all should live our lives normally as we possiblly can..

Re: Drinking in the 2WW
Do you know how many people I know with very heatlhy babies or now adults who got rip roaring drunk between getting pregnant and finding out. Not sure I am planning on getting rip roaring drunk during a 2ww, especially since I am not really supposed to drink anyhow, but if I am out with friends I am drinking and I am definitely having wine now and then.

That's what I planned to do anyway. I'm not gonna go out and get trashed but I figured a beer or 2 can't hurt

THIS!! The first month TTC; i didn't want to drink. But now 4 1/2 months later I just go about my normal routine. I've heard blood isn't shared for the first 6 weeks too. We're all pretty much going to find out very early if we get a BFP so it should be ok!! It's not like someone maybe not trying that doesn't find out for 8 weeks or something.

Re: Drinking in the 2WW
I drank right up until I got my BFP ( and a lot of wine that month). And now I am sitting here with a perfect little DS. So drink away.

Re: Drinking in the 2WW
At first I was going to give up drinking 100% while TTC....that was 9 months ago. I think it lasted about 2 weeks. TTC is too stressful to not drink
