Drinking during 2ww (w/IF)

I know this has been posted many times on TTC, and I personally do not see anything wrong with having a couple of drinks (but not getting wasted obviously) during the 2ww - whether you have no fertility issues or are doing a medicated cycle shouldn't matter, IMO.

However, my 2ww will start Friday. On the 19th is my office holiday party, and I'd like to have a couple of drinks - including because if I don't it will raise a lot of questions and just be annoying with people asking if I'm pg, and I'll have to explain that I might be, etc.
That said, a few people here know that I will be in the 2ww (I had to share some of the details with work to arrange for time off, etc.) and while they are very supportive, I still feel like people might be judging me if I have a drink at the party. That's their problem, right? If this cycle doesn't work then I don't think it will have anything to do with whether I have a drink or two at the party. Remind me again that this is my body and my prerogative and I shouldn't care what other people think

My RE says its perfectly fine to have a few drinks in the 2ww!!!

I don't see a big deal with having a few drinks. It's sad, but people can be so judgemental. If you do conceive there is a long time during the 2ww before implantation actually occurrs. I wouldn't worry about it, You need to be able to relax and live your life during this process!

Not judging you at all - and all evidence generally says that having a couple of drinks is fine.

However - we were always of the mindset that this was the most important thing in the world to us and we would do whatever it took to get PG. And with all the money these things cost - we didn't want to be left with any "what if's" if it didn't work. What if I didn't have those drinks at my party - would it have worked?

Maybe we were overly cautious, but the way to look at this is that you're doing this for you and your DH. If you want to have a couple of drinks - fine. But, do it because you want to do it, and not because people will start asking questions if you don't drink. It's not about them - it's about you.
