Drinking during 2WW
How do you feel about this? Personally, I'm not a big drinker, but I do have occasional drinks. Like right now, while DH is making us dinner. I'm in the 2WW, and all of my 2WW have had the same dilemma. I have come to the conclusion that until I get my BFP, I will eat/drink/live as usual. I've seen many friends/relatives give up all the things you're supposed to, only to then get BFN. Don't get me wrong....I would never drink/eat raw foods/cold cuts, etc. if I were preggo, and yea....I might worry a bit about the 2 glasses of wine I had during 2WW, but I think life, and living should go on, and life should not revolve completely around TTC. What do you think?

Re: Drinking during 2WW
I am the same way! Until I see a BFP I am not stopping. I drink maybe a drink once a week or maybe every two weeks. I still continue my life and go out and if I want a drink I will have one. Glass of wine at dinner the other night., yum! I completely agree with you!! Plus you don't share the blood with the baby in the begining. I am all for a glass whenever until I see that BFP anyway. GOOD LUCK!!!

I think that's a healthy outlook. From what I have read, seen, heard, etc... ignorance is bliss-- meaning, don't change anything that you woud normally do until you know. No need to stress and not have a glass of wine to relax you!

I agree with you. The only thing I am adhering to is not eating tuna fish, my doctor told me to stop eating tuna fish completely for now and until I get pg and have the baby. There are many studies out there correlating eating tuna with autism. I would not wanna take any chances...She told me to stay away form cold cuts too but I still ahve them. XOXOXO Kitty

I dont overdo it, but the baby doesnt even share your blood until, I think, week 5 or 6 so the occasional glass of wine or margarita isnt going to be big deal.

I feel the same way, I'm trying just to live normally and when I get the BFP then I will act accordingly, but until that happens, eat, drink and be merry!

Re: Drinking during 2WW
I am in month 4 of trying and I can't stop living my life during this process. It's hard enough going through this!!! I had a few drinks this month and I don't worry about it. I take my vitamins and am doing everything possible to get pg. Once the BFP comes, I will give up drinking immediately.

I get what this thread is about, but for the life of me I still can't figure out what "2WW" means?

Nevermind me, I just looked it up—2WW—I've got a lot to learn before TTC.

ITA. I also have an occasional drink during the 2 ww if I feel like it. I can't stop my life, who knows how long it will take to get a BFP? Besides, I don't think a drink or two at that point is harmful anyway.
By the way, I'm also avoiding tuna altogether, I heard it has a lot of mercury which the body stores for a long time and is definitely toxic to a developing baby.

Re: Drinking during 2WW
I agree I still live my life and go about my normal routine. I don't binge drink but I do have a glass of wine a day. I love wine. But when I get pregnant all that will def cease.

The baby is not even sharing your bloodstream right after you get a bfp, so no worries on drinking during the 2ww!!

Re: Drinking during 2WW
When I began TTC I was so good, I treated my body as if I was pregnant, no drinking, caffeine, etc. Well, after months of getting BFN I said, I am going to relax and live my life. I partied it up a few times, and enjoyed myself without guilt. Well, the month that I didn't think twice about it, i got my BFP! Enjoy yourself in moderation

Re: Drinking during 2WW
i absolutely drank during the 2WW! in fact, i had several drinks the weekend before my BFP. i also had a surgery during the 2ww.
you can't give up on your life. if i had, i would have been miserable for 4 months.
the minute i got my BFP i haven't had a drink since. but i do eat cold cuts and won't change that. the chances of getting listeria are slim to none.
go enjoy yourself!
