Drinking during 2ww
I know this has been discussed, but Friday was my birthday. I was about 7 days past ovulation. We went out and I had quite a bit to drink. I also had a holiday gathering Thursday and drank that night too. I took a test Saturday just for the heck of it and got a faint positive and a darker line today. While I am happy, I am so so worried about the drinking I did. Did anyone else go through this? Thank you...

Do not worry about it. I made myself crazy when I first started TTC. After a year, I just lived life. The month I drank socially up to the day AF was due was the month I got a BFP. There was definitely once or twice where I had more than enough martinis.

Re: Drinking during 2ww
I drank during the 2WW. Everything that i have read says that the baby doesnt actually get anything from your bloodstream for a few weeks so I wouldnt worry too much about it. I told my doctor and they said not to worry about it. I am now 36 weeks and everything seems to be going well....

I read that no blood is exchanged during the the first 2 weeks of pregnancy because the placenta is not formed yet. So don't worry if you have some alcohol during this time.

Thanks for all the responses.
What worries me is everything I read online, websites all say damage could be done very early on.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and was taking some heavy duty pain killers. I had no idea I was pregnant though. But the dr. said the baby was not even attached at that point it was too early. But I too was worried, so I know how you feel. You'll be fine though!!

I happened to be in Greece during the first 4 weeks of pregnancy and partied like a rock star on most nights - not knowing that I was pregnant of course. Knock on wood - baby is doing excellent at week 24.

Re: Drinking during 2ww
They tell you the most horrific things about drinking alcohol but I really think it's a scare tactic.
My girlfriend insisted that you can only drink beer but not wine because for some reason wine is so much worse for the baby. On Friday my doctor told me to go ahead and have a glass of wine if I wanted.
I think I drank wine (about one glass) maybe 3 days a week for my first 5 weeks, if not more than that, until I found out I was pg. I'm not worried and I'm sure you're fine!

Re: Drinking during 2ww
I was almost 7 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. I drank many times during those 7 weeks...1x VERY heavily. Of course it crossed my mind when I found out but I honestly don't think it will have any affect on my baby. I think the important part is stopping once you find out.
