Drinking & the 2WW

What do you ladies do about drinking during the 2WW? Do you completely abstain, take it easy but still have a few, or just try to forget you MAY be pregnant and drink as usual (say, if you're at a party)?

Really curious what others do as this is my first 2WW.

TIA!

In the past I went about life as usual, but this cycle I am trying to abstain. You dont share a bloodstream until 6 weeks but I read that alcohol can affect progesterone levels

This!

You have to live.

I hope you don't have to stay on these boards too long. But if I would have changed everything while TTC, these 2 years would have been even worse!!

Re: Drinking & the 2WW

I agree...live it up!!!

I was told by a doctor recently, the only way alcohol will interfere with the development of the baby is if you consume alcoholic beverages every day for an extended period of time. Think about it, what did our parents do when they were pregnant with us? Yes, research has shown that some of the things they did can effect a fetus.

Every doctor differs in their opinions also. My RE says its ok, but the RE my sister saw said during the process to avoid all alcohol, cold cuts, soft cheeses etc...as if you were pregnant.

To each their own, some ladies prefer to be extra careful, and some are a bit more lax. For me, until i get my bfp I'm going to enjoy my Pinot Grigio Chat Icon

(For the first 6 mos ttc I did avoid everything, but then I decided to just live like usual)

Good Luck!!!!!!

DITTO!

That doesn't meant I'm going out and getting hammered, but I definitely haven't denied myself because of the 2ww.

Drinking & the 2WW

Not only did I not stop living my life, I drank the day before my surprise BFP. Haven't thought twice about it.
