OMG - I just had the craziest message. It was his first message to me - not like we've been texting back and forth for a while. Here it is in all it's glory!
I am definitely looking for someone who is not into smoking, alcohol, pot etc.
I just finished dating someone for 3 years. I think i had my first narcissist and ptsd is real from that! But tragedy plus time equals comedy. I look fwd to this being funny.
I did heavily... heavily for me anyway...self medicate at the end of this last relationship.
I bought a bong, some pot, some cigarettes, some PBR and tried to stay numb when i wasnt at work.
I kept it up for about 5 days.
Last night i went to see 2 bands at slims. One was Steve Grothmann on bass with Dave Wilson from Chatham co line and evan nichols. It was Dave Wilson Trio. 2 of the 12 songs were outstanding. Ive known Steve for over 20 years. So it was fun.
The other band was Tonk. They play vintage honky tonk music. Im friends with and have done electrical work with most of those guys. Anyway... it was a cool night. But i f'd it up by having too many beers and too much pot. Then i drive home. I couldn't believe i was driving.
I threw up in front of my neighbors apartment and slept at her place. We are just friends. Never have had sex with her. We went to Asheville 2 weekends ago. No sex. Just pot alcohol and food. Weird. We are both lonely as hell.
But what im getting at is im ready to come out if this tunnel. This self medicated numb avoidance tunnel.
When i am at my best i am vegan, very nutritionally conscience, super kind, super funny, loving, monogamous, passionate, supportive, musical, hardworking, optimist and believe that our spirit keeps going when we die.
Also i never use coupons but i should.
I never pay more than $12 for a haircut. But i buy organic food.
I dont play any gigs this weekend. I am a busy musician plus i work a full time job a ncsu in their electrical dept.
But maybe we could meet for dinner Friday or Saturday and see how much we dislike each other? Or we could fall in love. One of those 2 probably.
I do like to eat a good meal though on a first date because at least you know that part will be good.
All right. Im not sorry for writing this much or being this honest. At this point... i just be me. You'll know me eventually anyway.
Oops. I was gonna delete this entire message but accidentally sent it. I missed my therapy session yesterday so i was trying to talk out some stuff.
Oh well. Let me know if you want to have dinner.

I'd reply. I give him props for putting it all out there and not sending the same lame form letter to every girl. Its a free dinner, he sounds funny, who knows you may hit it off.

Yup - that's how I feel. Free dinner isn't worth wasting my time. I've been online dating for almost a year and have been on a LOT of blind dates, and I'm starting to get more picky about who I go out with b/c I'd rather do something else with my time than have yet another uncomfortable meal with someone. The fact that he admits to binging and driving high is a no to me from the beginning.
I actually had someone write me and tell me he has herpes and understands if I just block him. I appreciated his honesty - I imagine dating must be difficult for someone in his situation (instead of waiting until getting too far down the line in a relationship and getting dumped).
