Crashing to ask a question.

So DH have not been blessed to have a baby yet (we will though, someday) but my SIL is pregnant and one of my Best friends is also pregnant. My SIL mentioned to me that she heard that usually when you have an easy pregnancy (no morning sickness, no illness to speak of) it usually means you are having a boy and when you have a hard pregnancy (lots of morning sickness, constantly ill, lack of energy) you are having a girl.

Well SIL's pregnancy so far has been easy peasy and she found out she is having a boy. Best friends pregnancy has been awful and it is confirmed today she is having a girl.

SO - my question is: Is this just coincidence or is there actual some merit to this? What are your experiences? Willing to share?

Thanks!

Ditto
I had two pretty good pregnancies and have 2 boys
Then again I know someone who had a horrible pregnancy and everyone thought girl
She had a boy
My mom had easy pregnancies with us and she has 2 girls and a boy

Re: Crashing to ask a question.

It's pretty accurate. 50% of the time, an easy pregnancy means a boy, and 50% it means a girl.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

So, it's as accurate as all the other "methods" of figuring out... how the mother carries, using the Chinese birth charts, heartburn, etc, etc, etc....

Re: Crashing to ask a question.

There is no rhyme or reason to ANY gender predictions!!!! I learned the hard way when I convinced myself I was having a boy bc all signs pointed that way, but lo and behold, its a girl! LOL I did have nausea and food aversions pretty bad and from very early on, but no vomiting... I also eat chocolate all the freakin time Chat Icon

Re: Crashing to ask a question.

I had barely any symptoms with either pregnancy - no morning sickness ever. I had boy/girl twins the first time an a girl the second time.

I had a very easy pregnancy- no MS, no fatigue at all, etc, etc- and I had a girl

NOW - on the OTHER HAND-
AFTER the baby is born- when life is rough, difficult, full of drama and tantrums- THAT is a sign of a GIRL!
Trust me!

I'm on my 2nd Chat Icon pregnancy & they've both been different. One was tough & one was easy, so I tend to think it's just a coincidence!

Re: Crashing to ask a question.

It's an old wives take that was not correct at all. Most are bs. I had a pretty easy pregnancy. Very little Ms or any other complaints. I had a girl!!!!

I was not sick at all with my pregnancy - only some heartburn. I had a girl. Rules didn't apply to me.

My pregnancy with DS was a breeze! I was tired and got heart burn here and there, but, other than, it was great.

My pregnancy with DD...Uuuuggh. Sick ALL day, morning sickness, gagging, tired, couldn't think of or even look at chicken.

Both pregnancies were so different.

I had a tougher time w/ DS than DD; more nausea; heartburn, etc. DD's pregnancy was a breeze.
