carseat placement #2
does anyone have their infant seat in the middle so that a passenger can ride in the back with the newborn? I was just thinking about this. If I put my toddler behind the driver's seat and my newborn behind the passenger, no one can sit in the back during long drives or for the first few weeks?
I know I need to make sure the middle is safe for an infant seat but I feel like I would rather do that to maximize space and allow for another person to sit in the back?
toddler behind passenger, infant in the middle, driver side open? I can't imagine not riding back there for the first few weeks like I did with my son?

carseat placement #2
We tried and couldn't fit the infant seat and my older DD's seat (Graco Nautilus) next to each other like that. I can't fit in the middle (I tried on the way home from the hospital) so it just is what it is and I sit in the front with no option of sitting in back.

We have the infant seat in the middle and my sons seat graco nautilus behind the passenger seat. We have a Honda pilot and I sit behind the drivers seat with plenty of room.

Re: carseat placement #2
We tried and it doesn't fit well. We have an MDX so not a small car either. I'm hoping for the best, I only very rarely sat in the back with DD when she was little, so I'm hoping it's a non issue. My husband did suggest if need be we can put the toddler in the 3rd row for the trip and I can sit in the row with our infant. I can also just barely squish between the two seats so I guess that's a solution too, but it was TIGHT!

We have the Boulevard 70 and the Graco Snug ride. My DD is 19 months and still rear facing, I don't want to switch her, but I wonder if the bases would fit that way.

I have a Honda Pilot and have DS's Britax Marathon behind the drivers seat and DD's Graco Snugride in the middle. I think I remember reading that it's ok as long as the carseats are not touching.

Mine did not fit that way either. I made every effort to sit in between the car seats but two months down the line the uncomfortable feeling and aches were unbearable. We gave in and bought a new car. Now I can sit between the car seats without a problem. Good luck!

Re: carseat placement #2
We're expecting number #2 and right now DD is behind the passenger seat, we are leaving her there. And the new baby with go behind the driver. They will be too squished together if I tried to get the baby in the middle and realistically, even if I did, it wouldn't be very comfortable to ride back back there anyway in the open seat.
I never got in the habit of riding in the back with my DD, I did it maybe two times total, so I am not really concerned about it. The smartest, and most comfortable, arrangement for us is to have one kid on the right and one on the left.

can I ask why the infant below driver? i thought about doing this also (if they wont fit passenger and middle) and someone mentioned that if we did it this way, you can't reach the newborn if you need to.
i thought it would be better to take the infant seat out on the driver side instead of a toddler with more potential to run into on coming traffic?

You're going to laugh but the only reason being that my DD doesn't want to move to the other side. She is 4 and has told us multiple times she won't move and she likes where she sits. Truthfully, it was hard to reach my DD even being behind the passenger so I guess I will manage. It's not worth fighting with her on it, she is so use to where she sits that I get her being upset at having to be moved for the baby. Just picking my battles.

We have a Pilot and have my older son behind the driver and the baby behind the passenger. We have enough room for someone to sit between the seats if need be.
