I am so upset about this!!! Who carries the food network and HGTV, honestly, I am going to switch.... Food network was the only thing me and my husband would watch together!!!!

This is really ridiculous. I'm annoyed that we didn't hear about this sooner. I've been seeing commercials on Fox to let Time Warner customers know that Fox may be dropped------why weren't we given the same notification?
I am calling Cablevision today. Fios is looking better and better!
Does Fios have foodnetwork?

Ooh, that's right! I've had to sit through commercials for "The Outdoor Room with Jamie Durie" for a month and was finally looking forward to it. He's Australia's hottest import! 
We're in contract on our first house and I just discovered HGTV 2 months ago. It's become my go-to channel when nothing is on, like MTV used to be in the mid-90's. I can't wait until we move and I can get FIOS with these channels and with BBC America.

You're exactly right. Scripps gets a $ amount per each Cablevision subscriber. When Cablevsion and Scripps went to negotiations, Scripps said they wanted more money. For example, they were charging Cablevision $1 per subscriber and now want $4 per subscriber. Cablevision cannot agree to those terms without raising consumer's prices so they countered Scripps with say $2 per person. Scripps said no way it's $4 per consumer. So Cablevision is not willing to raise it's consumers' prices. Cablevision asked Scripps to keep running the Food Network and HGTV being that they were nearing an agreement, and Scripps said no way. Scripps will not lose Cablevision's account being that they make a ton of money off of Cablevision. I hope this clears things up a bit.

People should be contacting Scripps Networks too. They are raising their rates, cablevision is just not willing to let them go up as much as they are asking for. Scripps has all these means of consumers contacting cablevision when they are at fault also!
