Bugaboo Strollers - Are they worth the $$$?
I just started looking into baby items.
Are Bugaboo strollers worth the ~$900 that they are sold for? Is there anything special about them?
How much was the stroller you registered/bought?

I have the Baby Jogger City Series- it was around $300- not cheap but I LOVE this stroller. Its light, easy to use and moves like a dream.

Re: Bugaboo Strollers - Are they worth the $$$?
it totally depends upon your lifestyle. I don't think bugaboos are good for suburbanites / those who use their car regularly. They ARE good for urban parents. Also, keep in mind you need to buy a lot of extras (carseat adapter, rain cover, other stuff), so it's really more than $900 you will spend.
we bought a bumbleride indie.... (something like $430?) gorgeous stroller and perfect for our needs. it's an all terrain (so it doesn't get caught on uneven pavement or grass) yet it's still not huge or super heavy (I believe it's the lightest all-terrain on the market), so it can be put in the trunk and can still navigate a shop easily.
I suggest you go to albee baby or baby central and play with all of the high-end strollers. you'll have definite favorites after the trip Image Attachment(s):

I actually have to disagree. I specifically got the Bugaboo bc I will be going in and out of the car bc its soooo light...the heavier strollers and the ones that fold with the seat on were just too much to lift in and out of the car...as for attachments, the only one you really have to get is a car seat one, which most other strollers you would need to get one as well...The rain cover etc comes with the Bugaboo already..... My friends who have had the Bugaboo in LI swear by it and love it...so I'm excited to get to use mine

I looked at the Bugaboo as well but then I came across the Bumbleride which has many of the same features for half the price and we ended up going for that instead.

Where is albee baby and baby central?
albee baby is in uptown manhattan, and babycentral is in brooklyn. baby central website (2436 mcdonald ave brooklyn)
albee baby website 715 amsterdam ave by 95th st
I like those 2 stores, especially baby central, because they have so many high end stroller models on display. you really can figure out exactly what fits your needs. you can collapse them down, lift them, push them about, look at the standard and extra accessories.... great places!

Re: Bugaboo Strollers - Are they worth the $$$?
While they are expensive, I think we are getting one. It just makes the most sense for our lifestyle-- we are city people and need something that is easy to manage on these bumpy streets and sidewalks.
BUT, we also drive a lot of places-- so we need something lightweight-- to get in and out of the car.
After doing a little research-- DH can now spot a stroller at quite a difference. I am not kidding when EVERYONE where we live has a bugaboo.

I agree with baby central, was there testing out all the strollers, but beware, some of the models they have out are last years, and some have been modifiied so you need to ask..i was looking at a 2007 bugaboo and they told me this was the newest model which I knew it wasn't bc of seriously minor minor changes, but none the less....

I totally agree and that is why my Mom is getting it for us as a gift!!!!!!
The stroller is $799 (not 900) at BBB and the car seat adaptor is only $44....

Re: Bugaboo Strollers - Are they worth the $$$?
The bugaboo is amazing, it is the top of the line, best pushchair on the market, hands down. Saying that, it does have its limitations (I have posted about this a zillion times) imo, the seat is too small for a toddler. Also, my toddler loves to climb up into his pushchair, and they can't do that in a bug. Saying that, its completely worth the money and for me, it fit my lifestyle brilliantly, I live in an urban area, and I walked every single day for a year. I also have a Maclaren Techno, which is also a fantastic stroller, so be prepared that this might not be your only stroller.
IMO, it is worth the money...

The Cameleon...We tested literally every stroller out there, and my DH was full steam ahead on this once bc A. it was sooo light, and B. it really was insanely easy to use....

I have the cameleon. It comes with a bassinet/seat frame. so you can use it as a bassinet in the first few months and then you can use it as a regular seat.

It came with one choice of Fabric, so either the fleece or the canvas, you can get the other fabric set, which includes the shade a seat insert and a blanket for an extra 99 bucks....(can you tell I was in the store for 4 hours). It also came with a mosquito net and and a rain cover....also obviously the bassinet and the seat....
I got the car seat attachment for my infant carrier which is the Peg Perego, which I believe was like 45 bucks... I still want to get the coffee cup holder and the sun canopy which is literally just a really big shade for the baby, as well as the footmuff, which I believe you can only use with the seat, not the bassinet..... But those are all honestly extras by choice, they are not necesseties... I ended up getting the canvas fabric put on to the stroller and then probably change it to the fleece one, which I bought already, once she comes. I just think the fleece is more prone to get dirty, and since we had the store assemble it for us (DH doesn't venture into putting things together ) and its sitting at my in laws house (superstition) I didn't want the fleece getting dirty, but definitely comes in more handy in the winter...

I just got the Uppa Baby Vista stoller in RED. It's very popular among the stars in California and its very similiar to a Bugaboo. It has a pram too. It runs $650.

I agree with pickles as well!!!! We tested a lot of strollers and the Bugaboo Chameleon provided us with the best all around stroller functionality. I love that it converts into a pram because there are a lot of studies that say that babies should spend less time in the curved position that most carseats put them in and should spend more time supine. I loved how light it was and easy to use. ALso, I found that it was one of the best built stollers and can be used all terrain. It comes with tons of accessories.

I don't care how good it is, I'm not rich I would never buy or expect anyone to buy me a stroller that expensive.... I'm sure there are less expensive and equally as good strollers out there! XOXOXO BOTB

Re: Bugaboo Strollers - Are they worth the $$$?
This is a beautiful stroller until you have a toddler or a bigger baby. Because if you do you won't use this stroller for too long. Which in such case does not justify the price.
And unless they changed the design you have to take it apart to put it in your car.

Re: Bugaboo Strollers - Are they worth the $$$?
It's totally worth it! Before narrowing down to the Bugaboo Bee (latest model) I've listed all the must have features in my stroller and the Bugabee Bee has it all and more!
- rear and front facing seat - adjustable handles for parents of different height - compatible with a car seat so I don't have to get a car seat stroller frame - compact and very light (only 13 lbs.) - folds easy - well built and sturdy - huge sun canopy - great customer service - rides well and great for urbanites
It's also only $529. Not that bad if it's the only stroller you're getting.
I'm soooooo excited about getting this Bugaboo Bee and can't wait to get it. I really should be a Bugaboo salesperson...
:D
