I don't think so! It is weird to push and the you CAN NOT put anything on the handles at all!
As one who lives in the city, I so need lots of places to put stuff and the Bugaboo doesn't have the big basket or strong enough handles.

We had this debate last night. I like the Bugaboo and Stokke but most of my friends feel like its a waste of $$$. I like the design but wonder how it handles--sounds like a car :)

It is sooo easy to push! I got a Mclaren stroller about 2 weeks ago and it feels like I am driving a freaking Yugo! Its juddery, it has virtually no suspension...its good for our vacation in March, but will avoid using it really. Believe it or not, you can fill the basket pretty well, I can do my grocery shopping for the day and put all of it in the basket, it can be awkward to get into, but I find the Mclarens basket is awkward also. I have bag clips for the handles and so long as the bags don't weigh more than the baby and the pram, I can get tons of shopping plus my coat on the handle. If you live in the City, you would love it. Why do you think that so many people in the city have them? Not just because they look good...a friend of mine has 3 kids in the city and she has been through 7 prams in the last 7 years with her 3...she wished she had bought a Bugaboo right away.

Shellyesq has one and she lives in the city so maybe you can FM her if she doesnt respond. I didnt want to spend the money and after having DS, DH and I looked at and kinda wished we did register for it. It really seems to grow with children and to be honest it dosent matter what stroller you have, you can not put more than what the stroller and baby weight on it because it can tip. As far as baskets are concerned the only stroller that has a good size is a Graco. The bugaboo has a cover that go over the basket which I think is a nice feature so nothing falls out or gets wet.

Racheeee, which bugaboo model do you have? Just wondering how you picked that model vs the other? I'm really wanted one, but not sure what model to get. Thanks!!!

I have a Frog, when I was looking at them they were just about to discontinue the Frog and I thought the newer models fabric looked a bit shoddy, and I was hearing that it got bobbly...and I just loved the Aubergine color one...so I just bought it! Personally, and I have a few friends with Geckos, the Frog is the best model, the fabric is stronger and its just got a few less features. I burst an innertube, and Bugaboo sent me a new one in the post which I got 2 days later. It was great.

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
IMO NOTHING is worth that much money.
Unless you dont drive and need it for constant walking...like in the city ...
I have only known 2 people who got it and they both sold theirs for something else

whats funny is in all the baby books like baby bargains, they dont even review it...and it says something, like ARE you crazy even thinking about this....
Its just a high priced fashion accesory IMO like a LV bag and is more about mobility then safety( although a lot of strollers truly are these days ) ....BUT if you have the money to spend and need the mobility then why not get it....everyone is gonna like what they like..its a personal choice....

I only read great reviews on all the models but it is out of my price range so I did not even consider it.

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
yes, worth every penny!!!!!!!
I have the Frog - I love it and so does DH!!! It handles so well - We used the Bassinet part for the first three to four months, it was great! We use it inside and outside the house.
I put bags on the handles all the time - has never been an issue

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
I own one and can tell you it is soooo worth the money!
I did buy an attachment to the handle bar for cup holder since it doesn't come with one. The suspension is great, it grows with your child, very easy to steer. I also own a Macleren for quick trips in and out of stores and can honestly say it isn't the same. It rides hard and DD doesn't seem comfortable in it but i got it as a 2nd more compact stroller.
Oh yeah I have the Cameleon

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
I am not even pregnant yet and I have thought about getting one. My boss has one and LOVES it. It's a huge amount of money and I don't expect to get it as a gift. My silly plan is to start squirreling away a $100 bucks a month as soon as I get preggo so I can buy one myself and not feel that guilty about it.

I do!
I really like it- but to be honest, I don't think I would get it if I didn't live in the city. Also, Jordana never used the basinett. She hated it. Until a few weeks months ago we used the car seat connection. You have to pay $40 for the car seat attachment. But I definitely think she will have this stroller for a while. My neice is 18 months and still llooks pretty comfy in it (although she is a skinny minny). I have seen kids around 5 years on in them in the city.
The pros: It has amazing suspension. Also it is great on stairs. I never noticed my building had 2 sets of 3 steps each until i had the baby. I even went down into the subway by myself without help the other day and it was fine. I love the fact that I can still look at her. In fact I had to get another stroller for her daycare. I had the Graco metrolight. I kept putting her in the carseat attachment just so I could look at her. Its also great for fitting into elevators and other small spaces. From what I hear it is great in the snow.
The cons: Getting in and out of cars is tough. I have to leave her in a cab to open it, which makes me nervous. The basket is pretty small. No cupholders or bag clips. Bugaboo doesn't sell either of these anymore. The bag clips I got break often and indent the cushion. The Babu cupholders have also been discontinued. A lot of $$$$! I think you have to figure out if it is worth it based on your lifestyle. If you walk around outside a lot, then it is. If you drive most places, then IMO its not.

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
at the beginning I found it difficult to open and close, but because I do it everyday all the time, I can flip the base open with one hand and shove the seat on in about 10 seconds flat. Shelly, even if you had a Mclaren could you open it while holding the baby?? I think the Mclaren is heaver than the Bug? But it does go down stairs and escalators fantastically well!!
It is a lot of money but everyone seems to spend THOUSANDS on furniture and alot of that furniture becomes redundant after a few years, the Bug is a great investment! Now if they only do doubles cos I aint waiting for this kid to drive to have another baby! Thank goodness he was an early walker!!

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
I never had the Maclaren. I had the Graco Metrolight. I was not a fan of it at all. She felt every bump and crack on the sidealk. I never tried opening it with her in my arms but I think I could have.
As for the bug- I can open the base pretty easy, but getting the seat on takes a little longer for me (and sometimes a few tries). Its annoying- but for city living it is definitely the best.

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
I have the frog. I have not used it much b/c I mainly use the snap and go for now. But I did use it when he was first born for walks and loved it. I love the bassinet part. I also left it in my house as an extra place to lay him downstairs. And I think the bassinet part is great to change their diaper in instead of the changing tables in public places. I did this at his Christening and it was great. Once the weather gets nicer or he outgrows his infant carseat I will use it all the time...can't wait!
It is tricky to get used to opening/closing. I had to call my friend who has one the first time we tried to close it. I bought a cup holder to attach to it. And I have no problem putting my diaper bag over the bar.

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
We are city-dwellers with no car and there was NO other choice for us!! I agree with other people who said if you're in and out of the car a lot, it is prob not worth it for you.
We just put it together last night and can't wait to drive the little man around in what is, essentially, our car! This is the only stroller that can handle busted up city sidewalks.

Re: Bugaboo--- Is it worth the $$?
I have looked and looked at the Bugaboo, but I think for me it is simply too bulky. We live in the city and don't have a car so all my travel is by foot. need something that I can lug around by myself because if he escalator is broken at my stop I have 130 plus steps to climb to get out of the station. Durability is definitely a concern, but mobility is too. We are getting the 2007 Peg Aria. Strudy, one handed fold and it weighs 10-11 lbs.
