She is good with him to get fed, changed, and dressed. But not always to be soothed. He's always saying she doesn't like me. I keep reminding him yes she does but she needs the comfort of mommy right now and that will all change I'm sure!

Yup and my DH is convinced DD hates him. Even after 3 mo, he's still very anxious and slightly awkward around her. I'm sure she senses that and that contributes to her fussiness. I'm not too worried though, eventually this will pass and everyone will be comfortable with each other.

This exactly! DH has to calm down when trying to soothe him because the baby can tell when DH is stressed and then can't calm down! This needs to change because DH will be the primary caregiver when I go back to work in a few weeks!

DD is 9 mo almost and he still says the same thing. I could see/feel his frustration when she was younger and he would try to soothe her. If I could feel it she could feel it and it wasnt helping her relax. Hes gotten better cause I BF and I was always with her. I keep reminding him there will be a time when she wants him only not me..

Re: Anyone's DH struggle with the baby?
I think women just hold babies differently so it's more comforting. DH has been great with out girls since day 1. I'm with them most if the time so they will look for me more and DH will say they don't like him. But after he has them on his 2 days off they turn from me to look at him. There are times I have to direct him if i hear them crying because he just doesn't pick up on their ques yet.

Re: Anyone's DH struggle with the baby?
Babies always look for Mama in my house. I was always the one who got up with them at night and did most of their feeding and changing. He just needs to keep at it. If shes fussy, sing or make funny faces. Hold her in different positions etc. Mom's dont have any special tricks we are just creative
