Re: Anyone see the post about GWL on facebook?
^^^^ I totally agree with you. I've been to great wolf lodge and we had an amazing time. It was nice, clean and everyone that worked there was awesome and willing to help in every way during our stay. I definitely don't think she should get money for all her belongings especially since they offered to heat treat everything. Seems like a money grab by her to me. She probably went psycho in the lobby and they kicked her out.

Re: Anyone see the post about GWL on facebook?
Since this thread is still going I read it all again. I read the original Facebook post again. They said they would heat treat her stuff, switch her room, and reimburse her stay. That is ALL she is entitled to, or should expect. She said they sat her down to discuss with her if SHE decides not to take her things, she would not be reimbursed. I think that's fair (and I am paranoid about bedbugs but there is standard protocol). And then posted it to Facebook and rallied a crowd around her who enticed her further to demand compensation for all items (which Disney does not do in this case, from what I know). She chose to leave, chose to go buy all new stuff and put herself in the position to walk out with only pajamas, etc. She did that to her kids, not GWL. Sorry but I think they handled it the right way and then when they saw how unfair she was being in her expectations and tried to rally the internet to support that, they were forced into a corner. Stupid Facebook, everyone jumping on the bandwagon about how she was treated. How was she treated? She had her room switched, items heat treated (she states this in OP), and stay refunded. To expect more shows she was out of line in her expectations. There is nothing to sue for, she chose to leave b/c she wanted her whole wardrobe, etc, replaced.

but you are missing a critical part- when they saw she had posted- they mysteriously LOST the bed bug and claimed that a professional company said there was none. They then RESCINDED the offer of heat treating her stuff saying they saw no need.
I agree that she shouldnt get reimbursed for all her stuff- but I think its reasonable to expect that you get a little bit of money to get clothing while they are treating your belongings. And that is exactly what WDW does in the instance of bed bugs

Of course they lost the bug. She rallied an internet posse to gang rape them on their Facebook site. They weren't paying for her belongings, nor should they have. They offered her more than enough compensation. When she originally posted on Facebook, she had a shit load of women telling her they should be paying for this and that, and doing this and that. These women hyped her up.
I would have lost the bug too if you had 1/2 of Long Island bashing my resort when they only got a one sided story.
She should have handled the situation before she posted on Facebook.

"Losing" the bug was not a professional course of action. When they saw her bashing them on social media they should have still heat treated her stuff. Instead, they said the room checked out as not having bugs and rescinded their offer to heat treat.

It's definitely not professional, but you could ruin a business by internet bashing. Of course GWL is HUGE and her situation would not have ruined them, but it did cause a lot of cancellations and bad reviews from people who got one side of a story. She should have handled it with them before getting Facebook involved. She got Facebook involved while things were getting figured out.

She should have handled the situation before she posted on Facebook.
Just a quick side note - she originally posted asking for advice on traveling in the snow storm. The mention of the bed bug came during that discussion. She didn't post with the intention of blasting GWL. It was more of a "real time update" post going on.

Anyone see the post about GWL on facebook?
I just reread the original FB post and it really wasnt that inflammatory IMO. And I still can't believe they said it was ok to put their swimsuits on bc bed bugs can't live in chlorine. So gross!!!

The post I saw had no discussion of the snow storm, and was started for the purpose of discussing the bed bugs. There was no edit to it, and the comments didn't have any opinions on traveling in a snowstorm? Maybe there was a different post that she didn't make public?

I was addressing LotsaLuv's comment. The girl this happened to told people about the bedbug in a private post that was started when she was talking about the snow storm. The public post (the one you saw) was not made until AFTER she was kicked out of GWL.

Re: Anyone see the post about GWL on facebook?
We were supposed to go end of april. I called an cancelled and they waved the 40.00 Charge.. I understand that beg bugs happen but the customer service was horrible. I also just heard a story from some one my mil knows that her grand children recently came back from them with boil like blisters and developed mercer. So I wasn't taking any chances.
We booked the new indoor waterpark at Camelback

That could happen at any water park. I think it's pretty unfair to say that the new waterpark you are going to could ALSO not have bacteria or bedbugs, etc.
