Yessss! And I believe she's a LIF girl- she found a bed bug in her room- they wouldnt reimburse her for her clothing which she is afraid to bring home. She posted on social media and at the end it looks like they kicked her out with her kids barefoot and in pajamas 
I'm appalled not at the bed bugs but at the treatment she received

Yes I saw it. This is what it said- She found a bedbug and even took a photo. The PA GWL took the bug from her and then later that day claimed that it wasn't a bedbug and also that they accidentally "lost" it! When the girl posted about the incident on Facebook they threw her out of the hotel. Her small children left BAREFOOT in a snowstorm! They could have at least given them some sweats and flip flops from the gift shop. This was the family's FIFTH yearly trip, so they were good customers. DISGUSTING IMO

Those hotel rooms look like a seedy motel 6. And the prices they charge?

I saw this shared on FB yesterday  I've been trying to convince dh to go for dd's birthday in April. Ahhhh bedbugs is one of our worst nightmares. That sounds super sketchy!!!

And by tossing her out for complaining- which last I looked was a right in this country - free speech anyone?- they look even worse.
The board of health should give them a gander.
I've heard the grossness goes beyond bed bugs.

Yes, I've seen it. And I believe the mom. She is a friend of LIF and friends with former members of LIF.
I can not believe how they treated her. They were walking her through their standard procedures of how they handle bed bugs (because it's happened before), and after she posted it on her FB page and tagged GWL, they totally changed their story and said she was making it up.
I've been to GWL, and it's fun, but expensive. To say that they've gone 5 years in a row means a LOT to me, and it should have meant something to GWL. They tossed them out on their azzes, and that is horrible, horrible customer service.
Because of the price, the unimpressive quality of the rooms, and the continued rumors of bedbugs, I wasn't sure we'd go back. But now, after how they treat repeat, loyal customers who referred many people there...No Thank You.

It's a little bit further- but have heard good things about the Six Flags hotel upstate- also has an indoor water park

Anyone see the post about GWL on facebook?
I'm sure there is so much more to this story than we will know.
I've seen them throwing out entire mattresses in past years, so I'm sure they know how to deal with bedbugs properly.
There are bedbugs everywhere. Even at the nicest hotels in the world. Travelers bring them in. I don't find GWL to be skeevy at all, and wouldn't compare it to a Motel 6 at all, not even in the slightest LOL. We are picky, and go there almost every year for the past 10 years.

This place is much smaller than GWL, we went several years ago as a day guest on our way to a special needs skiing event. No wave pool, minimal slides, and just overall small for the drive.

Yes, I know some people that have lost their tempers and become ballistic, then complained about an issue that only escalated to a breaking point after they were being unreasonable themselves. Not saying this is the case here, but I'm sure it's more than them just throwing them out without shoes on. Did the mom refuse to go back in the room? Was there no other room available to put them in (they routinely sell out).
Every time we have went, it's been clean and fine, or we wouldn't go back!

So then there is OBVIOUSLY more to the story than what is being told. Cops don't just come and escort you out for complaining. They come when you are acting like a lunatic.

not saying you shouldn't go back ,I was just there in January, but they def. have had them before and they seem to keep coming back so I am nervous to ever go back there again.
Disney gets them all the time also, and we always go back there. Tons of hotels in NYC have them, even the nicest ones. Just check your bed, mattresses, and drawers when you check in, BEFORE you put your stuff in your room, and you should be fine. We just went in October and had no issue in our room.
